Anthem of the Seas Live Blog – Day 2 – Sea Day – Royal Caribbean Blog

Posted: June 20, 2022 at 2:41 pm

Today is the second day of my cruise on Anthem of the Seas, and it is a sea day as we make our way to La Rochelle, France.

We are sailing through the Bay of Biscay today, a patch of sea that has been feared by sailors for hundreds of years. Due to its exposure to the open Atlantic waters, the bay often encounters treacherous weather conditions and swells making ports inaccessible.

While we did not encounter treacherous seas like many unlucky sailors in the past, the sea was far from calm and the weather was quite dreary throughout the day. There was no rain, but was quite cloudy and chilly outside. I'm hoping we encounter more sunlight later on in this cruise!

Despite traveling west, the ship's time shifted one hour forward today to match with Spain and France's time zone. I took it easy this morning with a small breakfast at Cafe @ Two70 while catching up on blogging.

I had reserved a 12PM lunch at Jamie's Italian on this cruise, so I was looking forward to a delicious Italian meal! While I plan to eat primarily at complimentary dining venues on this cruise, I did treat myself and my friend Samantha to lunch at Jamie's with onboard credit I received when booking the sailing.

Jamie's Italian is my favorite Royal Caribbean specialty restaurant, and we ordered quite a few dishes to try. Starting our meal was the black truffle arancini, ultimate garlic bread, and burrata.

For the main course, I ordered my go-to dish of eggplant parmagiana and penne pomodoro. Samantha loved her baked lasagne and truffle tagliatelle.

I was far too full, so I took my dessert (Amalfi lemon cheesecake) to go!

The meal was fairly quick, with us in and out in a little over an hour. The food was up to par (and maybe even a bit better) with Jamie's Italian on other ships, and our server Ronald was fantastic!

Funny enough, Jamie Oliver himself was onboard Anthem of the Seas for the day yesterday to work with the staff on training and quality! It definitely paid off as the meal was delightful.

After lunch I decided to test my luck with my Crown & Anchor Society free play money at the casino. I quickly turned $8 into $30, but I am not much of a gambler, so I decided to cash out my winnings instead of losing it all.

Following today's (extra large) winnings, I took a walk around the pool deck to get some air. I fully expected the pool deck to be nearly empty, so I was extremely surprised to see a ton of guests "sunbathing" under the cloudy skies!

I've never seen so many guests on the pool deck during a dreary weather day in the Caribbean, so it was fun to see the cultural differences in attitude toward far from ideal weather.

After a few rounds of cards in the Solarium, we attended an afternoon "Where in the World?" trivia session at Schooner Bar. We were given a series of clues in order to guess where in the world the trivia host was describing. To my surprise, we did pretty well!

After such a large lunch at Jamie's Italian, we decided to skip the Main Dining Room in favor of a lighter meal at Solarium Bistro.

Solarium Bistro is a Mediterranean-inspired complimentary restaurant served buffet style (with main dishes ordered via a menu). From hummus to falafel, grilled vegetables, and salmon, it hit the spot for a quick dinner. Not many people even know this restaurant exists, so it was relatively empty.

This evening's festivities first brought us to karaoke in Boleros followed by tonight's big band jazz performance in Two70. I love jazz music, and Royal Caribbean always has amazing big band jazz performances, so I was excited to check it out.

Tonight's performance definitely did not disappoint and it has been my favorite entertainment thus far onboard. Samantha and I were both in jazz band throughout high school, so we are total geeks when it comes to jazz music! From the musicians' excellent improvising skills to watching guests dance to the tunes, it was a wonderful way to end our second day on Anthem of the Seas.

Tomorrow we are docked in La Rochelle, France!

There was a Titanic staircase backdrop for formal night photos tonight.

There are no chairs on the promenade deck aside from the smoking area. Usually there are chairs to sit and watch the view, but I haven't seen any on this ship.

Solo cruise surprises on Royal Caribbean Wonder of the Seas – Insider

The author in her stateroom. Joey Hadden/Insider

Because most cruise ship staterooms are meant to hold at least two people, booking a room by yourself often means you still have to pay higher prices that are equivalent to two people.According to Cruise Critic, this is because most cruise ships don't have solo cabins that are meant for just one person. Some do, but it's not common. For example, mine didn't.

The listed rates for my ship were per person, not per room when I booked my cruise. But when switching between one and two guests in my search, the cost per person doubled when I had just one person selected. This is known as paying a "single supplement," as it helps the cruise line make up for the lost revenue that would have come fromhaving a second person on board, according to the LA Times.

For $2,000, I got an ocean-view stateroom to myself. It would have cost about half the price per person if I had brought someone with me.

Insider paid for the room, per the company's reporting standards.

Read more:I spent 7 nights in a 179-square-foot room on the world's largest cruise ship. Take a look inside my cabin.

5 Things To Consider When Choosing the Right Sportsbooks To Use – Times Square Chronicles

Posted: at 2:40 pm

Human nature is a funny thing. It seems from conception, there has always been an urge, no no a need, for an individual to prove that they either have the best, are the best or in some way connected to the best. This competitive approach manifests itself in several different subtle, and not so subtle, ways. Before you know it, people become extremely comparative when deciding between the most mundane things, for example using physical activity, and having that decide more critical actions or results. For example, there are prehistoric drawings in the Lascaux caves, located in southwestern France, that depict wrestling and sprinting between participants in the latter part of the Stone Age. Why would these contests happen? It stands to reason that even back then, there needed to be known who was the fastest and strongest in that community. Again back to humanitys quest to always try to gauge who is the best. But what about those in the crowd who are not competing directly, what are doing before, during and after the competition. What are the stakes for them? Learned researchers have found it rather difficult to determine exactly when sports betting began. But it would be easy to assume that for as long as there have been sporting activities, and a barter system, there was probably some form of sport betting going on. For maybe thousands, if not millions, of years when people placed wagers on the outcome of an event, they expected to receive some form of payout or settling of the bet. Betting was common in Ancient Rome where the best bets could be placed only in the city of Rome at chariot races in and around coliseums. From that time, it could be said that as sports modernized and progressed so did the sports betting industry in an effort to be proactive in their efforts to facilitate the needs of their clients. One of the biggest changes in sports betting was the addition of the internet. The 90s brought with it the emergence of online casinos and their related sportsbooks. It was after casinos began to offer their games online, sports betting truly took off around the world. The addition of sports betting to online gaming was a natural fit as well. In fact, sports fans find it much more convenient to place their bets online. Also, with the availability of numerous sportsbook sites, fans can shop around for the best odds as well as promotions being offered. There are now hundreds of online gambling options that are beginning to dominate traditional bookmaking. Because of that fact there needs to be a checklist of things to look for so that interested parties can pick the best sportsbook for their needs.

Of all the things mentioned above, only one that should be ever present in the thought process of all potential sports bettors selection of sportsbooks should be security. That and that alone should outweigh all other considerations. However, once the sportsbook security setup is satisfactory then anyone interested in finding the right sportsbook that gives the right user experience and results that works best those interested. Because, as we all know, it is only human to want to place a wager on who is truly the best on all given day.

How to Use a Sportsbook When Betting on Tennis – Tennis World Live

Posted: at 2:40 pm

If youre a lover of tennis, youll know that this sport has a lot to offer everyone. There is a lot of excitement surrounding every match. There are also many tennis events taking place throughout the year. This means that tennis fans almost always have something to enjoy.

However, knowing how to place a bet on a tennis match via a sportsbook is not always easy. Dont worry, this article will explain the process to you.

There are many online sportsbooks out there. However, you should ideally look for one that has the best sportsbook promotions. The better the promotions are, the more excitement the sportsbook is likely to offer you.

Start by signing up for the sportsbook in question and deposit some funds. Youll need to deposit funds so that you can place a bet. In some cases, you may be able to place a bet using the free bet or cash you received as part of your welcome bonus.

The next step is to place a bet on a tennis match. However, before you do this, youll need to search for the sport first. Most online sportsbooks have sports listed on the left-hand side of the homepage.

If they dont, look at the menus at the top of the home page. You may see a menu entitled Sports. Click on this menu and you should be taken to an in-play console. This console shows you some of the matches and races that are taking place on that day.

The next step is for you to search for tennis. So, look to the left-hand side of the page. You should see tennis listed there.

As soon as youve selected tennis, youll be shown a few matches that you can bet on. If you dont want to bet on any of those matches, dont worry. Its likely that youll be shown other matches that you can bet on.

Look to the left of the page. There may be a list of matches that are soon to take place. You can choose a tennis match from there. Once youve selected a match, youll be shown the players you can bet on and the odds. Make sure that you are happy with any odds that you choose.

The odds may change over time. However, the odds that you see in front of you are the odds that youll have to use.

Place your bets and sit back and think about winning.

Below, you can find some tips that could help you to place some more-informed bets.

Many different tennis matches take part on many different surfaces. Some players play better on one surface than they do on another. Wimbledon, for example, has a grass playing surface. Some players may prefer this surface as opposed to a clay surface.

When you know how a player reacts to a grass or clay surface, for example, you can have an idea about the match. Perhaps a grass surface is not great for players to move around on.

However, it can make serves easier. How is your favorite player likely to respond to this? When you know, youre more likely to place a well-informed bet.

Another aspect that you need to consider is a players style. Every player tends to play differently. Some players may have more energy and be more accurate when theyre not serving. Others may play slowly, but they can hit the ball very accurately.

When you know the players style, you know if theyre more likely to win against their competitor. You may also want to research the competitors style to see how it will impact the match.

Placing a bet on a tennis match via a sportsbook can be a lot of fun. You will have as much time as you need to place a bet. You can take a look at the different types of bets on offer and think about using them.

No matter what match you want to bet on or which player you want to win, sportsbooks can make it fun. Dont worry, you dont need to be an expert at understanding sportsbooks in order to place a bet. You simply need to know how to place a bet that will hopefully be successful.

Michigan Sports Betting Handles May Dip Well With Strong Revenue – Legal Sports Report

Posted: at 2:40 pm

While the Detroit Tigers are off to a dismal start to the baseball season, Michigan sports betting enjoyed a decent May.

Michigan sportsbooks handled $356.1 million in May, according to a Michigan Gaming Control Board report released Thursday. The total is a 10% drop from April 2022, but a 38% increase compared to May 2021.

May is a predictably slow month and Michigan sports betting likely will not see month-over-month increases again until the NFL betting and college football seasons start later this summer. May was the lowest Michigan handle since August 2021.

Despite the low handle, MI sportsbooks held 10.1% to generate $35.9 million in sports betting revenue. It is the third-highest revenue figure since Michigan launched online sports betting in January 2021.

Operators deducted nearly $11.1 million in promotions, bringing taxable revenue to $24.8 million.

Michigan collected almost $1.2 million in taxes.

Online sports betting accounted for nearly $333.4 million, or 93.6%, of the overall action.

FanDuel controlled 29.8% of the online wagers, taking $99.4 million in bets.

FanDuel held an impressive 15.2% during May to generate $15.2 million in revenue.

BetMGM was second in the market, making $8.8 million in revenue off of just under $80 million in wagers, an 11% hold.

It was the third straight month BetMGM slotted in at No. 2. Prior to that DraftKings Sportsbook was nearly even with FanDuel in market share. In January, FanDuel and DraftKings clocked in with 26.7% and 26.6% market share, respectively.

DraftKings nailed down the No. 3 spot in Michigan, taking $69.1 million in bets. The operator held 7.3% for $5 million in revenue.

May was the first full month of Soaring Eagles PlayEagle Casino & Sports platform. It is the states 15th online sportsbook.

The operator took $994,747 in bets and posted a $14,884 loss.

The three commercial retail sportsbooks in Detroit took $22.8 million in bets during May. The sportsbooks generated $2.4 million in revenue, a 10.5% hold.

Greektown Casinos Barstool Sportsbook took $13.1 million in wagers, or 57.5% of the overall retail handle.

The BetMGM Sportsbook at MGM Grand Detroit handled $5.4 million, while the FanDuel Sportsbook at MotorCity Casino accepted $4.2 million in bets.

Fubo Sportsbook to integrate real-money bets with Live TV streaming for new free-to-play sports contests – Yogonet International

Posted: at 2:40 pm

FuboTV Inc. announced Thursday that it will unveil pickem games this weekend - becoming the first company to launch thefree-to-play sports contests directly integrated into the live TV streaming experience.Aditionally, pickem players in select markets will have seamless access to Fubo Sportsbook by scanning a QR code to place real-money wagers aligned with their picks. This marks the latest incorporation of FuboTV and its owned-and-operated real-money wagering platform.

Pickem players will be able to predict the outcome of select live sporting events directly from FuboTVs live TV streaming platforms home screen. Fubo will make pickems available prior to the start of select live sporting events each Sunday. Players can test their skills through a variety of contests, including Perfect Pickems, to earn points and compete against their friends and the FuboTV community for the chance to work their way up leaderboards.

Pickems will launch on June 19 to select FuboTV subscribers and will continue to roll out to the companys user base in the coming months. Subscribers can engage with pickems across all FuboTV connected TV, smart TV, gaming consoles, and mobile apps as well as on its website. "FuboTV will continue to expand the types of contests, the gaming experience and, later, will introduce prizing," the group stated in a press release.

The industry-first integration also demonstrates and further builds upon the seamless Watch/Wager/Win connection between FuboTV and Fubo Sportsbook - all within a single ecosystem. Fubo Sportsbook is purpose-built to meet U.S. sports fans growing demand for interactivity by delivering personalized omniscreen experiences that turn passive viewers into active participants. Its proprietary feature, Watching Now, leverages FuboTVs first-party user data to engage participants by recommending relevant bets based upon what they are streaming even as they change the channel.

"As it aims to transcend the industrys current TV model, FuboTV continues to integrate interactivity and personalization into its live TV streaming experience with recent proprietary launches of free-to-play games and the FanView live scores and stats widget", the company further explained. In January, the company updated its popular Multiview on Apple TV feature to include FanView, enabling viewership of multiple live sporting events alongside game stats and scores from around the league.

FuboTV recently reported that this integrated approach has led to stronger engagement with crossover users on average placing a greater number of bets and having higher retention rates on the sportsbook than sportsbook-only players. The company intends to further integrate FuboTV and Fubo Sportsbook with the launch of additional product features, including live odds, this year, subject to regulatory approvals.

"With this weekends launch, FuboTV will become the first live TV streaming platform to offer pickem games integrated into the video experience with a direct gateway to an owned-and-operated sportsbook," said Mike Berkley, chief product officer, FuboTV. "We believe interactivity is a key product differentiator for Fubo and, with these immersive experiences built into our live streaming product, we can offer the most personalized - and customizable - sports and entertainment television experience."

Scott Butera, president of Fubo Gaming

"While other media companies are entering into external partnerships with betting companies, FuboTV and Fubo Sportsbook have combined both into one ecosystem," said Scott Butera, president of Fubo Gaming. "The launch of pickems will further demonstrate FuboTVs unique product integration and commitment to offering fans real-time immersive experiences across multiple touchpoints."

"Our mission is to transform the TV experience through interactive engagement, including free gaming and real-money wagering, into streaming video," said David Gandler, co-founder and CEO of FuboTV. "This industry-first integration has been popular with consumers, and, as we reported on our recent first quarter 2022 earnings call, were already seeing encouraging early signs of the flywheel effect between FuboTV and Fubo Sportsbook."

"We believe our built-in video audience will allow us to acquire users more efficiently, with a limited amount of marketing spend. We will continue to build our fully unified streaming TV and sportsbook experience with the rollout of more interactive features this year," the CEO concluded.

However, it has quickly become one of the top bookmakers in the US thanks to its sharp odds and mobile-friendly design. Could LIV Golf Tour Join The US Sports Betting Landscape? – Sports Handle

Posted: at 2:40 pm

Consumers can already bet on a birdie in every legal sports betting state and soon will be able to bet just steps off the fairway at a brick-and-mortar DraftKings sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale during the PGA Tours annual Waste Management Open.

Could there eventually be an opportunity at another golf course in Arizona? Or at a course in any sports betting state that hosts an LIV Tour event?

Given all the hubbub around the LIV Tour, we mulled the question of whether that tour could get into the legal sports betting game, if it sticks around long enough. The short answer is, Yep, it looks like the LIV Tour could potentially be licensed for sports betting. But read on to find out where, how, and how likely.

From the day Phil Mickelson announced hed participate in the controversial Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour, it has been in the news. The day the new tour teed off in London last week, the PGA Tour announcedsuspensions of the 17 players who agreed to play in rival LIV events. The list includes Mickelson, former world No. 1 Dustin Johnson, 2017 Masters winner Sergio Garcia, 2010 U.S. Open winner Graeme McDowell, and Lee Westwood, who has finished second or third in six majors. Of the 17 suspended players, 10 have resigned their PGA Tour memberships.

LIV events jump across the Atlantic for four dates in the U.S. beginning June 30 at Pumpkin Ridge in Oregon, followed by tournaments at Trump National in New Jersey (July 29), The International in Massachusetts (Sept. 4), and Rich Harvest Farms in Illinois (Sept. 16). The next two tournaments are in Thailand and Saudi Arabia before the tour wraps up its inaugural season at Trump National in Florida (Oct. 27).

Sportsbooks around the U.S. are taking bets on the tour, including DraftKings and PointsBet, both of which also have a relationship with the PGA Tour. Rush Street International also accepted wagers on the first LIV event in some North American jurisdictions, while BetMGM and FanDuel did not.

Suffice to say, this new tour is creating controversy in all sectors.

Since the LIV Tour teed off, its created a rift among pro golfers that heated up this week with PGA players calling out their now-LIV counterparts ahead of the U.S. Open:

The verbal sparring will likely only intensify as the LIV Tour preps for that first U.S. date, and with players from both tours mixing it up on the links at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, this week for the U.S. Open.

Of the LIVs five U.S. stops, wagering is legal in two Illinois and New Jersey. Could that present an opportunity for the tour to partner with a sportsbook? Its a possibility in Illinois, but not in New Jersey, which doesnt allow for on-site betting at professional sports venues.

Laws in Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., allow for wagering at professional sports venues or for professional franchises to have access to digital wagering licenses. In every case, the team or venue isnt directly involved in wagering, but rather partners with a sportsbook, which then offers betting. The venue serves merely as a point of access while a sports betting operator runs the sportsbook.

Of those seven, five currently offer live wagering, while regulators in Kansas plan to launch operators later this year and Ohio is set to do so on Jan. 1, 2023. For fun, we took a look at where the LIV Tour could, potentially, someday get a license, if it meets a states specifications:

The state allotted 10 licenses for professional sports franchises/facilities and so far has issued eight, including one each to TPC Scottsdale and Phoenix Raceway. TPC Scottsdale will partner with DraftKings through an agreement with the PGA Tour, and Barstool Sportsbook will be the operator at Phoenix Raceway. The state still has two licenses for professional sports franchises/facilities available, so if the tour meets the qualifications, why not try?

Verdict: Its possible. If the LIV Tour had a regular stop in Arizona, theres no reason it couldnt apply for a license.

Under current law, Illinois allows for wagering at sports venues that seat 17,000 or more, though Wintrust Arena (WNBA Chicago Sky) has a seating capacity of just over 10,000. An amendment to the sports betting law passed last year exempts Wintrust Arena from the 17,000 requirement and also includes this language: a facility that hosts sporting events and holds a seating capacity of greater than 17,000 persons except in a county with a population of more than 1,000,000.

So, what does that mean for the LIV Tour, should it make Rich Harvest Farms a permanent location? The tour could apply for a wagering license, as long as it could prove that it has seats for 17,000 fans (although many golf spectators stand or sprawl on the grass) and meets all of the other requirements for a pro venue to host wagering. Illinois does have a cap of seven licenses for pro venues, though no such licenses have been issued as yet.

Verdict: Its possible, but not probable. If Rich Harvest Farms becomes a permanent stop, can prove theres seating for the requisite number of butts in seats, and meets other qualifications, theres no reason not to apply.

According to state law, the four casinos in the state will hold wagering licenses, and each casino can then contract for up to three digital platforms. In essence, there will be four brick-and-mortar casino sportsbooks, and up to 12 digital platforms. Two professional sports entities, the MLS Sporting KC and Kansas Speedway, are named in the law as being able to make a deal with a casino for a digital platform. It seems unlikely that if the LIV Tour made Kansas a regular stop that it would then be able to offer wagering in the state, unless the law is amended. Wagering in Kansas isnt live yet.

Verdict: Unlikely. Its not a hard no, because the state does allow marketing partnerships with casinos, but there doesnt appear to be a clear pathway.

So far, no professional sports venues are offering digital wagering, but it is legal, and LIV Golf or the PGA Tour or NASCAR for that matter would seem to at least make the first cut in terms of qualifications. Maryland law allows for Class A-1 licenses, which would include retail and digital wagering. The Baltimore Ravens, Washington Commanders, and Baltimore Orioles, plus any future professional teams, can apply, according to the law. Neither the PGA Tour nor NASCAR appears to be in the mix, though the PGA Tour returned to Maryland this year after a more than 60-year hiatus with the Wells Fargo Championship in May. There is no NASCAR track in Maryland.

Verdict: Its possible. If the LIV Tour had a regular stop in Maryland, theres no reason it couldnt apply for a license.

The Ohio law leaves room for the possibility that a new professional sports franchise will move into the state. The law allows for 25 Type A licenses, which could be issued to any of the states existing casinos or professional sports teams, plus NASCAR tracks and PGA Tour stops.

By my count, there are currently 11 casinos and 11 professional sports venues, including the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the PGA Tour stop at Muirfield Village Golf Club, and NASCARs Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. That leaves up to three Type A licenses still available, so if the LIV Tour were to find a home course in Ohio, it would appear it could apply, though according to the regulator, the LIV Tour does not currently meet the definition for a pro sports organization, so it would not get the preference such entities are entitled to. The law spells out that pro sports organizations are owners of NFL, NBA, NHL, or MLB teams or owners of sports facilities that annually host a PGA Tour or NASCAR event. Wagering is setto go live in Ohio on Jan. 1, 2023, and the application window opened Wednesday.

Verdict: Its possible. If the LIV Tour had a regular stop in Ohio, licenses are available.

Under Virginia law, some professional sports organizations are eligible to apply for sports betting operator licenses, but it doesnt appear that a golf tour PGA or LIV or any other is among them, The law defines a major league sports team as a professional baseball, basketball, football, hockey, or soccer team that is at the highest-level league of play for its respective sport. It also goes on to define what a motor sports facility is, but there is no mention of golf facilities anywhere in the law.

Verdict:No go. Virginia law tightly defines what pro venues could qualify, and golf isnt among them.

The law in the District allows for four Type A sports betting licenses, which in turn allow for mobile platforms. Operators must be tethered to a sports venue, and only four qualify under the law: Capital One Arena, Audi Field, Nationals Park, and St. Elizabeths East Entertainment and Sports Arena. In the current landscape, there would be no opportunity for the LIV Tour to apply for a license.

Verdict: Another no go. D.C. law names the four pro venues that can get sports betting licenses.

The Detroit Tigers (26-40) head to Fenway Park Monday to start a 3-game series with the Boston Red Sox (36-31) at 7:10 p.m. ET. Lets analyze Tipico Sportsbooks lines around the Tigers vs. Red Sox odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Detroit is 7-3 straight up (SU) in the last 10 games. The Tigers won back-to-back weekend games vs. the Texas Rangers to win their 3-game set.

Boston is 6-4 SU in the last 10, including 3 consecutive 2-1 series victories vs. the Seattle Mariners, Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals.

The Red Sox lead the season series against the Tigers 2-1 with a plus-2 run differential in those meetings.

RHP Alex Faedo vs. RHP Josh Winckowski

Faedo is 1-3 with a 4.28 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 2.7 BB/9 and 7.4 K/9 in 40 IP over 8 starts.

Tigers 4, Red Sox 3

LEAN TIGERS (+155)because they have a slight edge in the pitching matchup, theres a line freeze in the betting market and this isnt a profitable spot for the Red Sox (-190). Detroits RL has better value but the Tigers cannot hit right-handed pitching.

The starting pitching matchup is a toss-up but Detroits bullpen is 5th in both FIP (3.34) and WAR (3.0) while Boston is 16th in FIP (3.93) and 18th in WAR (1.0), according to FanGraphs.

Also, nearly 90% of the cash is on the Red Sox but the line hasnt budged off the opener, per Pregame.com. This line freeze suggests that oddsmakers are confident in their pricing and are inviting more pro-Tigers action.

Finally, Boston is just 5-6 SU as home favorites of -150 or greater vs. right-handed starters with a minus-26.0% return on investment (ROI).

Its only aLEANto theTIGERS (+155)since their RL is going for a cheap price.

BETa third of a unit on the TIGERS +1.5 (-130)based on the previous analysis and the Red Sox -1.5 (+105) are 4-7 RL in the situation described above with a minus-24.1% ROI.

That said, Id go light on the TIGERS +1.5 (-130), if at all, since they are in the midst of another disappointing year and their lineup ranks last in BB/K rate, wOBA and wRC+ vs. right-handed pitching, per FanGraphs. Also, the Under 9.5 (-120) is my favorite wager in this game.

BETa half-unit on theUNDER 9.5 (-120)only because we are getting to the party late on the total. Tigers-Red Sox opened at a 10-run total but has been lowered to the current price.

However, Detroits lineup scores just 2.7 runs per 9 vs. right-handed starters and the Tigers are 16-29-2 O/U against righty starters with a plus-22.3% ROI toward the Under.
