Popular streamer Roshtein has just been banned from Twitch, and fans think they know why.

Twitch is not afraid to ban users when they breach their Terms of Service, and the site has banned some of its biggest creators in the past including Dr Disrespect, Ice Poseidon and Phantoml0rd.

Just last month, gaming streamer Adin Ross was banned from the platform for the fourth time after he was streaming live on his mobile phone whilst driving.

The latest person to lose their streaming rights is Roshtein, but who he is? And why did he get banned? Heres what we know.

Ishmael Swartz, better known online as Roshtein, is a Swedish casino streamer.

He streams live videos of himself playing casino games on Twitch and often wins large sums of money.

Roshtein has been streaming on Twitch since 2016 as is now one of the most well-known online casino streamers.

He is also big on social media, with 94,000 followers on Instagram and 51,000 on Twitter.

On Tuesday (August 17th), Roshtein was banned from Twitch.

He announced the news on Twitter, simply writing: Banned on Twitch.

At the time of writing this, its unclear whether the ban is permanent, or if he will regain access of his account.

The exact reason why Roshtein was banned has not been announced, but fans think it is related to new affiliate link rules.

This week, Twitch announced that it was banning affiliate links and referrals for online gambling in order to crack down on the promotion of gambling by streamers.

In a Creator Update, Twitch said: To prevent harms and scams created by questionable services that sponsor content on Twitch, we will prohibit sharing links and/or referral codes to sites that offer slots, roulette or dice games.

Users had until August 17th to remove all of their links, and it was revealed that people who did not remove all their links would face penalties.

Fans think that Roshtein was banned because he didnt remove all of his links, with one fan claiming on Twitter that he still had a casinos logo on overlay which breached the new rules.
