Meanwhile, iGaming providers are looking for innovative solutions to take mobile gambling to the next level of entertainment.

Female wave. iGaming providers develop more games targeted at women and they love them! Due to the statistics, ladies will play online slots as often as men soon. The share of the female audience was 30.8% by the end of 2020, today it is almost 39.9%.

Play for fun. There is no need to hide the fact that many players come to online casinos to multiply their income. But BGaming has found an intriguing trend that more and more people choose online casino games primarily for entertainment. "This shows that many providers offer engaging games with not only good math but also with attractive themes of the games, which means high-quality design, music, and interactive elements to gift genuine impressions to players," noted Bogdan Gres, Brand manager for BGaming.

Converting gambling into gaming. The line between gambling and video games is gradually blurring. According to the poll conducted among casino players in Q1 2021, BGaming has figured out that around 10% of players come to online gambling from online video games. That gives good opportunities for new ways of collaboration between reputable producers from two sides. Probably, soon we will see promising corporations that will influence both spheres of entertainment.

Tech Innovation Driving Growth On Both Sides Of Michigans Border – mitechnews.com

Posted: at 7:56 pm

DETROIT The state of Michigan shares a lengthy border with Canada, measuring 721 miles. Just north of Michigan is the Canadian province of Ontario, and the total number of border crossings in Michigan ranks among the top 10 highest volumes between the United States and Canada.

The technological innovations taking place on either side of the border are noteworthy, not least of which are the border safety and security measures. According to MDOT (Michigan Department of Transportation), the international border crossings between the United States and Canada are significant insofar as the largest bilateral trade relationship exists between these two countries.

According to statistics, Michigans international border crossings play a pivotal part in bilateral trade, with the sum of Canadian exports to the US making up 30 percent of the countrys GDP and an incredible 87 percent of its exports abroad. The United States generates trade volumes of $1.2 billion daily with Canada, greater than any other nation or economic bloc. The majority of trade between US and Canada comes by way of trucks, the remainder being, water, and rail. To facilitate this multi-billion dollar industry, MDOT actively invests in the most technologically sophisticated systems to fast-track the passage of goods, services, and people between both countries. Efficient processing systems are sacrosanct.

Information Technology Initiatives (ITI) are central to expediting the movement of traffic during crisis situations, emergencies, and high-volume activity. To this end, MDOT and the Department of Information Technology operate on a daily basis. Sophisticated security systems and powerful programs are in place, such as Free and Secure Trade (FAST), and NEXUS at pivotal international bridge crossings. In addition, the Michigan government collaborates with the Homeland Security Bureau of Customs and Border Protections to boost the security of operations.

The top publicly traded companies in Michigan, as of 2019 include Ford Motor Company ($155.9 billion), General Motors Corporation ($137.24 billion), Dow ($42.95 billion), Penske Automotive Group ($23.18 billion), Whirlpool ($20.42 billion), Lear ($19.81 billion), and Stryker ($14.88 billion). The chief industries are largely motor-vehicle-related, with significant trading activity between Michigan and Canada. Across the border, Ontario is renowned for its real GDP, measured at C$744.44 billion, supported largely by its 14.7 million residents. Ontario generates an estimated 40 percent of all GDP in Canada a significant proportion of economic activity. Of that, the real estate industry contributed largely to this figure, with leasing, rental, and sale of property accounting for 13 percent of Ontarios GDP

Of course, there are other burgeoning industries in Ontario, driven largely by telecommunications growth. According to Statista, the market size of gaming in Canada has been increasing since 2016, peaking at $14.72 billion in 2019 and dropping slightly to $14.08 billion in 2020. Leading the way are scores are reputable operators where players can find the best online slots games in Canada, along with card games, table games, and jackpot games. The size of the virtual global gaming market according to Globenewswire, is expected to hit $158.20 billion by 2028, with a compound annual growth rate of 11.4 percent in that time.

In 2020, Fortune Business Insights estimated the size of the global online gambling market at $66.72 billion. Interestingly enough, a New York University article found that digital gambling platforms have rapidly gained favor in Canada since 2020, with surging levels of popularity reported.

According to that study, online casino games have been gaining momentum since 2020, with legal-age Canadians taking to slots, card games, and table games with increasing alacrity. Online casino operators are now generating substantial revenues in Canada. This is being boosted by the increasing liberalization of online gambling activity south of the Canadian border too. Since online gambling is fully legal in Michigan (it was signed into law in December 2019 by Governor Gretchen Whitmer) this industry now serves people on both sides of the border. Michigan is considered a front-runner, thanks to the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, which is expected to generate significant revenues in the state. Online sports betting and online casino games are fully legal to players in Michigan.

Michigan also ranks highly as one of the fastest growing e-commerce small business states. Many e-commerce start-ups in the state have now set up shop in Detroit, and are maximizing business activity accordingly. Big-name enterprises such as Walmart are fully operational in Michigan with major online operations. The top e-commerce development companies in Michigan have been boosted by way of broadband Internet connectivity, as attested to by the Grand Rapids area Chamber of Commerce. Popular malls such as Woodland Mall have made e-commerce a fundamental component of their revenue streams. The entertainment sector is certainly benefiting, as evidenced by strong growth trends in online gaming, online streaming of movies and music services, et al.

Who are Antifa? – ADL

Posted: at 7:56 pm

Antifa: Definition and History:

The anti-fascist protest movement known as antifa gainednew prominence in the United States after the white supremacist Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, VA, in August 2017. In Charlottesville and at many subsequent events held by white supremacists or right-wing extremists, antifa activists have aggressively confronted what they believe to be authoritarian movements and groups. While most counter-protestors tend to be peaceful, there have been several instances where encounters between antifa and the far-right have turned violent.

These violent counter-protesters are often part ofantifa (short for antifascist), a loose collection of groups, networks and individuals who believe in active, aggressive opposition to far right-wing movements. Their ideology is rooted in the assumption that the Nazi party would never have been able to come to power in Germany if people had more aggressively fought them in the streets in the 1920s and 30s. Most antifa come from the anarchist movement or from the far left, though since the 2016presidentialelection, some people with more mainstream political backgrounds have also joined their ranks.

These antifa sometimes use a logo with a double flag, usually in black and red. The antifa movement began in the 1960s in Europe, and had reached the US by the end of the 1970s. Most people who show up to counter or oppose white supremacist public events are peaceful demonstrators, but when antifa show up, as they frequently do, they can increase the chances that an event may turn violent.

Today, antifa activists focus on harassing right wing extremists both online and in real life. Antifa is not a unified group; it is loose collection of local/regional groups and individuals. Their presence at a protest is intended to intimidate and dissuade racists, but the use of violent measures by some antifa against their adversaries can create a vicious, self-defeating cycle of attacks, counter-attacks and blame. This is why most established civil rights organizations criticize antifa tactics as dangerous and counterproductive.

The current political climate increases the chances of violent confrontations at protests and rallies. Antifa have expanded their definition of fascist/fascism to include not just white supremacists and other extremists, but also many conservatives and supporters of President Trump. In Berkeley, for example, some antifa were captured on video harassing Trump supporters with no known extremist connections. Antifa have also falsely characterized some recent right wing rallies as Nazi events, even though they were not actually white supremacist in nature.

Another concern is the misapplication of the label antifa to include all counter-protesters, rather than limiting it to those who proactively seek physical confrontations with their perceived fascist adversaries. It is critical to understand how antifa fit within the larger counter-protest efforts. Doing so allows law enforcement to focus their resources on the minority who engage in violence without curtailing the civil rights of the majority of peaceful individuals who just want their voices to be heard.

All forms of antifa violence are problematic. Additionally, violence plays into the victimhood narrative of white supremacists and other right-wing extremists and can even be used for recruiting purposes. Images of these free speech protesters being beaten by black-clad and bandana-masked antifa provide right wing extremists with a powerful propaganda tool.

That said, it is important to reject attempts to claim equivalence between the antifa and the white supremacist groups they oppose. Antifa reject racism but use unacceptable tactics. White supremacists use even more extreme violence to spread their ideologies of hate, to intimidate ethnic minorities, and undermine democratic norms. Right-wing extremists have been one of the largest and most consistent sources of domestic terror incidents in the United States for many years; they have murdered hundreds of people in this country over the last ten years alone. To date, there hasbeen onesuspected antifa-related murder, which took place on August 29, 2020, in Portland, Oregon.

Antifa: Scope and Tactics:

Today's antifa argue they are the on-the-ground defense against individuals they believe are promoting fascism in the United States. However, antifa, who have many anti-police anarchists in their ranks, can also target law enforcement with both verbal and physical assaults because they believe the police are providing cover for white supremacists. They will sometimes chant against fascism and against law enforcement in the same breath.

While some antifa use their fists, other violent tactics include throwing projectiles, including bricks, crowbars, homemade slingshots, metal chains, water bottles, and balloons filled with urine and feces. They have deployed noxious gases, pushed through police barricades, and attempted to exploit any perceived weakness in law enforcement presence.

Away from rallies, they also engage in doxxing, exposing their adversaries identities, addresses, jobs and other private information. This can lead to their opponents being harassed or losing their jobs, among other consequences. Members of the alt right and other right wing extremists have responded with their own doxxing campaigns, and by perpetuating hateful and violent narratives using fake antifa social media accounts.

Because there is no unifying body for antifa, it is impossible to know how many members are currently active. Different localities have antifa populations of different strengths, but antifa are also sometimes willing to travel hundreds of miles to oppose a white supremacist event.

What is antifa and who funds it? | Fox Business

Posted: at 7:55 pm

Antifa is an umbrella term to describe radical left-leaning militant groups that typically confront neo-Nazism and white supremacists at demonstrations.

Public and elected officials, including President Trump, have blamed antifa activists for violence at protests sparked by the death of George Floyd last week. Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died last Monday after a white Minneapolis police officer pressed his knee on Floyd's neck for several minutes.

HOW SHOULD AMERICA HANDLE ANTIFA?

But officials have said thatin parts of the country, what started as peaceful protests have devolved into organized riots.

Short for anti-fascists, antifa has no hierarchical structure or universal set of tactics that makes its presence immediately recognizable, though members tend to espouse revolutionary and anti-authoritarian views, said Mark Bray, a historian at Rutgers University and author of Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook.

Literature from the antifa movement encourages followers to pursue lawful protest activity as well as more confrontational acts, according to a 2018 Congressional Research Service report.

ANTIFA PROTESTS NEW YORK CITY POLICE, TRANSPORTATION

The literature suggests that followers monitor the activities of white supremacist groups, publicize online the personal information of perceived enemies, develop self-defense training regimens and compel outside organizations to cancel any speakers or events with a fascist bent, the report said.

People associated with Antifa have been present for significant demonstrations and counter-demonstrations over the last three years, sometimes involving brawls and property damage.

Trump and members of his administration have singled out antifa as being responsible for the violence at protests triggered by the killing of Floyd.

PROTESTS DRIVE DEMAND FOR TASER MAKER AXON'S LAW ENFORCEMENT PRODUCTS

On Tuesday, Trumps personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, told FOX Business Maria Bartiromo the FBI has evidence that shows antifa's involvement.

This is an organized effort. I dont say its a strictly organized effort, but its organized, Giuliani said. Theyre communicating with each other, you know the FBI has a lot of the texts that show antifa's involvement. Theyre anarchists, theyre people who want to drive this government down.

In a pair of statements over the weekend, Attorney General William Barr described antifa-like tactics" by out-of-state agitators and said antifa was instigating violence and engaging in domestic terrorism" and would be dealt with accordingly.

At a White House appearance Monday, Trump blamed antifa by name for the violence, along with violent mobs, arsonists and looters.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany told reporters earlier in the day that antifa is a big element of this protest," though she deferred to the Justice Department on the question of how one could be identified as a member.

But it's unclear how big its involvement is.

Bray said that although he believes people associated with antifa are participating in the demonstrations, it is difficult to establish how big of a role they're playing since there is no official roster of members and since the movement lacks the numbers to mobilize nationwide in such a dramatic, forceful way.

The radical left is much bigger than antifa much, much bigger and the number of people who are participating in the property destruction are much, much bigger than the radical left, Bray said.

Little is known about who funds antifa activists, or how the groups get their resources. Antifa is not a single organization, and therefore, financial details, if any exist, are murky.

Earlier this week, Trump tweeted: The United States of America will be designating ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization."

Asked Monday what legal authority the president would have for labeling antifa a terror organization, McEnany pointed to the existing statute under the U.S. criminal code that defines acts of domestic and international terrorism.

Even if antifa is not a designated terror organization, FBI Director Chris Wray has made clear that it's on the radar of federal law enforcement.

He has said that while the FBI does not investigate on the basis of ideology, agents have pursued investigations across the country against people motivated to commit crimes and acts of violence "on kind of an antifa ideology."

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Another Antifa beating won’t silence truth-teller Andy Ngo – New York Post

Posted: at 7:55 pm

As one member of the angry Antifa mob chasing Andy Ngo down a Portland, Ore., street tackled him to the ground just before midnight Friday, the journalist heard more approaching and was left with one thought, he told The Post: This is how Im to going to die. I hope they make it quick.

Ngos crime, in the eyes of these criminals? Simply documenting what they do.

As the feds focus on the supposed threat from right-wing violent extremists, Antifa goons continue their terrorism and multimillion-dollar vandalism and face no consequences for again assaulting the man working tirelessly to expose them.

Independent reporter Ngo is one of the few brave enough to cover Antifa. He narrowly escaped Friday night when two others covering the unrest around the Justice Center showed up, distracting his attackers. Ngo sprinted to one of the few businesses not boarded up, a hotel. With wounds all over his body and a bloodied eyeball, he called 911 on his cell as the taunts came from outside.

I cant wait for you to come out, Andy, a woman screamed in livestreamed footage. Were going to beat the fuck out of you, bh.

Portland Antifa protesters already put Ngo in the hospital back in 2019. Hes gotten many death threats since, and graffiti around town reads Kill Andy Ngo and Murder Andy Ngo.

Since the latest attack, Ive been unable to walk. I cant sleep. Its excruciatingly painful just to use the toilet, the soft-spoken son of Vietnamese immigrants told us. He finds it hard to put into words the psychological impact but refuses to let the mob beat him into silence.

Im staying on this beat, he declared, adding its more important than ever because local media outlets play by Antifas rules, such as not using cameras to document the thugs criminal behavior. Not Ngo: They view me as an existential threat because one of the things I do is when they get arrested, I look at county jail records. He then stays up all night documenting their social media posts before they get a chance to delete them.

Some outlets like to claim theres little evidence of Antifa presence at protests. But there is, and Ngo collects it.

Ngo sees no way Antifa can achieve its goal of destabilizing the entire country. But it still terrorizes towns like Portand, where politicians cowardice can let anarchy flourish. Indeed, Portland police never charged anyone in the 2019 attack, and nearly a week after this latest one, Ngo still hasnt even heard from a detective.

The media could use a lot more truth-tellers like Andy Ngo. And the country could use a lot more officials paying attention to him.

It’s been a year of Antifa and unchecked anarchy: Devine – New York Post

Posted: at 7:55 pm

It was one year ago on Friday that Minneapolis soy-boy mayor, Jacob Frey, issued the order to police to evacuate the Third Precinct and leave the station to be overrun by the mob and burned to the ground.

Protests had quickly turned violent after George Floyds death under the knee of police officer Derek Chauvin three days earlier, and the police surrender only empowered the domestic terrorists who were whipping up the crowd.

For the next four nights, criminals ransacked the city and terrorized its residents with little in the way of police intervention.

Freys craven capitulation to the forces of violence had lit the match on a summer of rage across the country that really lasted beyond the November 2020 presidential elections, in lawless places on the West Coast like Portland and Seattle. Statues were toppled, the White House was besieged, looters had a field day, and police were assaulted with bricks, Molotov cocktails, bottles of urine and lasers.

More than 30 people were killed, 700 police officers were injured, and insurance damages were estimated at over $2 billion.

The American people, already battered by a pandemic, had to endure six months of relentless terrorism from anarchist militants whose actions were minimized, normalized and, in some cases, applauded by the Democratic Party and Trump-deranged media in an election year.

Until he was against it, candidate Joe Biden was all for Defunding the Police or absolutely redirecting funds away from police, as he put it. Kamala Harris promoted a bail fund for rioters.

No one will forget how Democrats played footsies with the thugs for political advantage. They fed the malicious lie that police are systemically racist murderers of black people.

This is our moment to root out systemic racism and ensure justice finally rings out for all in America, tweeted Biden while our cities were burning.

At the same time, far-left politicians such as Minnesotas Democratic Attorney General Keith Ellison tried to divert blame onto Trump voters who he pretended were the external agitators in Minneapolis riots. White supremacists, he called them.

It was a narrative that would stick.

And, if you remember, on election eve, retailers from Columbus Circle to Soho and elsewhere across the country boarded up their storefronts, in anticipation of extreme violence if Donald Trump won.

Of course, he lost, so there were no riots. What does that tell you?

Through it all, the Democratic Party and its media enablers persisted in characterizing what was happening as mostly peaceful protests.

Since the only riot footage was from fearless young video journalists such as Julio Rosas and it barely aired on CNN or MSNBC et al., half the country was only dimly aware of the mayhem, unless it was happening in their back yard.

What may have begun as peaceful protests under the banner of the Marxist-based group Black Lives Matter had been hijacked by black-clad militants affiliated with the hard-left revolutionary movement Antifa.

Wherever there was a local BLM grievance, Antifa exploited the moment and stoked the rage.

Videos on social media showed shadowy figures in black bloc, wearing oxygen masks and goggles, toting backpacks full of weapons, strategically corralling crowds, systematically smashing store windows, cutting through fences outside police stations, lobbing rocks and Molotov cocktails, carrying umbrellas to ward off tear gas and scrutiny. They blockaded roads and highways and terrorized motorists.

Mug shots showed these people overwhelmingly to be white, and many were seemingly drug-affected. A good number were the children of privilege. Of those who were arrested, almost all were released with a slap on the wrist. Talk about white privilege.

Donald Trump railed against Antifa and declared he would have them classified as domestic terrorists. But nothing ever happened. FBI Director Christopher Wray famously downplayed the threat, telling lawmakers in September that Antifa is just an ideology, not a group or an organization.

In a presidential debate a week later, Biden defended Antifa as an idea, not an organization and said white supremacists pose a greater danger.

When a bat hits you over the head, thats not an idea, Trump replied.

Nothing characterizes the peculiar impotence of the Trump presidency better than the summer of unchecked riots that demoralized the nation.

A new book, The Antifa: Stories from Inside the Black Bloc, by former naval intelligence officer Jack Posobiec, sheds light on the battle behind the scenes at the White House to take the militant organization seriously as a domestic terrorist threat.

Posobiec opens with a meeting in the Oval Office between Wray and Trump, a few days before the election, in which the president expresses his frustration at the FBIs inaction on Antifa. It is the third such meeting in six months.

Antifa, theyre a nonfactor, Wray told Trump, citing the extremism/domestic terrorism database compiled by FBI analysts.

Thats a damn lie, Chris, and you know it, shot back the president. I see this stuff night after night on Twitter. Weve got Homeland Security up in Portland getting attacked by gangs of these thugs and youre going to sit there and tell me its not happening?

Sir, were working on it said Wray.

Wray balked at the presidents order to crack down on Antifa, records Posobiec, just as the Pentagon balked at Trumps order for 10,000 troops from the National Guard to be activated to defend Washington, DC, on Jan. 6, the day of the Capitol riot.

A senior Trump White House official is quoted on the tug of war over Antifa: It mostly consisted of Wray playing [Antifa] down as a minor inconvenience with no real training or saying the FBI cant go after a political ideology Wray would say Fox and OAN were exaggerating. He always promised to come down harder after every scrap but obviously never did.

Of course, since Jan. 6, now Wray has focused the FBIs efforts almost exclusively on Trump supporters, in one of the largest, most complex investigations in the agencys history.

Antifa remains untouched.

It is extraordinary that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the White House medical adviser throughout the pandemic, never disclosed earlier the part he played in the risky research that may have prompted the coronavirus outbreak in a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

The so-called gain of function research to juice up coronaviruses in the lab had been banned by the Obama administration as unsafe pending a review against the wishes of Fauci, the longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which partly funded research in Wuhan through a subcontractor.

In December 2017, the ban was lifted by the neophyte Trump administration, after Fauci told junior White House staffers at a meeting in the office of science and technology that a review had cleared the research as safe, according to a report in The Australian newspaper.

Fauci did not mention this resumption of research funding to senior administration figures, nor to the president or White House chief of staff, claims the article by Sharri Markson, author of an upcoming book, What Really Happened in Wuhan.

It kind of just got rammed through, she quotes one official as saying.

Youd think Fauci might have mentioned something in the last year.

More than 20 Antifa mobs charged with the Portland mayhem – Texasnewstoday.com

Posted: at 7:55 pm

More than 20 suspected Antifa riots have been prosecuted in Portland over the past two weeks, suggesting escalation by local and federal prosecutors following a year of riots in the besieged Oregon city. I am.

On Thursday, the Multnomah County District Attorneys Office announced charges against 10 suspects, following several charges by a grand jury.

Maximilian Ryan Jennings (23), James Walker Prettyman (25), and Thomas Morrosek (34) each had one felony riot, one felony first-degree crime prank, and one second-degree crime mischief. I have been charged.

The three were charged on November 8, 2020, with charges of being part of a black-clad mob that broke most windows in Multnomah County Democratic Party headquarters. At that time, social media Antifa accounts promoted direct action. I oppose the presidential election.

In another indictment, six other suspects were charged with felony for their role in the riots on January 20th, Antifas inauguration day. A group of Antifa marched to the Oregon Democratic building, where they set fire on the street and broke the windows of the building. The arrested had knives, batons and crowbars.

Andy Ngo accuses Antifa of attempting to kill me in a Portland attack

Nicole Aria Rose (26 years old), Darrell Anthony Kimberlin (31 years old), Jean V. Paris (19 years old), Kyle Martin Romstad (22 years old) are a felony riot, a felony first crime mischief, a second crime mischief We were charged with one charge each.

In addition to the second indictment of a second-class detective mischief on suspicion of breaking a coffee shop window in another riot in November 2020, a series of riot arrests, Kaiave James Dubia, 23, also I have been charged with the same crime.

Austin Nathaniel Nuchraska (25) was charged with the most serious charges. The January 20th riot has been charged with four charges: felony riots and criminal mischief, as well as illegal possession of destructive devices.

The District Attorneys Office also announced charges against 26-year-old rapper Sean Gabriel Lopez, known as Nosh, who regularly participates in protests and riots in Portland. He was arrested early in the morning of May 29, after being issued with two charges: an attempted assault, a first-class robbery, a serious offense of illegal use of weapons, and a serious offense of a first-class crime.

The charges were triggered by the Antifa riots on April 23, when Lopez was accused of using rocks to break the windows of an apartment complex. Residents were about to be beaten. In addition, Lopez has been accused of throwing stones through a coffee shop window.

Lopezs bail is set at over $ 70,000, and according to his GoFundMe, the bail was paid by the Portland branch of the National Lawyer Guilds Large Defense Fund program.

For left-wing district attorney Mike Schmidt, who withdrew more than 90% of riot and protest-related cases last year, the prosecution is a 180-degree turn. In an interview shortly before Willamette Week took office in the midst of a riot in August 2020, Schmidt said, Historically looking at the country, it was during these protests that we made some changes. Im the most proud of our countrys history, and sometimes suffered property damage. It takes more than a peaceful protest to get the governments attention. It was. I have that in mind very much.

Its time to take action against village of Ilion

There is a word that is used when public officials refuse to answer questions about drastic actions they have taken stonewalling.

This is exactly what Mayor Brian Lamica, Deputy Mayor Chuck Lester and the Village Board are doing on the situation with Fire Chief Tom Pederson and Deputy Chief Mike Connover. Supposedly, the Ilion Police Department is conducting an investigation. It does not take over 6 months to do it, and all Police Chief Tim Parisi will say is, "No comment." Meantime, these dedicated fire department leaders are on administrative leave.

The village and Lamica have repeatedly denied FOIL requests by the Observer-Dispatch and Attorney Anthony Brindisi. Maybe, it is time for the State Attorney General Latisha James to take action against all these village officials.

Mitch Pezdek,

Ilion

It's hard to imagine that this empty CoLa (Columbia/Lafayette) neighborhood used to be a bright, vital attraction to a once teeming neighborhood in a busy downtown, where there was always something hopping while people would gather about and troll these city streets looking for the heart of Saturday night.

Now, it looks shell-shocked and forlorn, the bee hive of activity long gone, the vitality sucked right out. Its soul spit back into the dirty streets with its stench and grime dancing the dance of days gone by amid the swirling of yesterday's news.

This picture strikes me of an abandoned prison complex where the few who dare to venture out into the cold and lonely nights for a scrap of anything to eat are met with shame and scorn. There is enough blame to bandy about in the bygone neighborhood to feed the hungry and hopeless for years with this tasteless pap we have had shoved down our throats for a very long time.

Yet, the nurses with their leadership and rank and file are waging a heroic struggle to hold this chaos together. But, it looks like the Energizer Bunny is about to collapse with exhaustion under the crushing weight of the hospital juggernaut. Shame on our leaders for abandoning us to such a dead-end future. Shame on you all.

John J. Calhoun Jr.,

Utica

Claudia Tenney, my representative in Washington, D.C., did not vote for an investigation into the disgraceful January 6 violence aimed at preventing certification of the 2020 election. A day that will live in infamy as the first time in our history that the Capital was attacked, not by a foreign country, but by American citizens. Will she equate that day with protests by Antifa and Black Lives Matter? No doubt. Doing so will demonstrate to me a jaw-dropping lack of judgment.

I remember her dance of joy on the White House lawn when a piece of Trump-sponsored legislation passed. It was clear to me that day who she represented and how eager she was to demonstrate that loyalty for the cameras.

Yes, I have a long memory. I hope my neighbors do too.

Sandy Miley,

Sherrill
