The 2020 ATP Cup Finals have reached the climax as on Saturday, well see Serbia take on Spain for the title. These are the top two entries in this tournament and both have made it all the way through to the finals. With big names like Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic set to go head-to-head, whats the best bet here?

In case youre new to the ATP Cup, how these events work is its a best-of-three. The two countries will play their two head-to-head singles matches. If we have a winner (if a country wins both), then they win the match. If not, then theyll play the doubles match as the tiebreaker.

Lajovic is clearly the weaker of the two players for Serbia as Djokovic is arguably among the top two players in the world while Lajovic is currently ranked No. 34. As for Roberto Bautista Agut, hes also the weaker of the two players but hes No. 10 in the world, so ranked much higher.

Lajovic was fairly shaky early on in this event as he needed three sets in his matches against France and South Africa. Hes won his last three matches against Chile, Canada and Russia in straight sets though.

As for Bautista Agut, hes been downright dominant at this event. Not only has he yet to drop a set, hes lost a total of 19 games across five games. Thats incredible. Hes faced Lajovic five times in his career and hes won all five matches. Lajovic has won just two sets off of him. I expect Bautista Agut to win here.

The Djokovic-Nadal matchup is one that a lot of people have been waiting for at this event. Theyre currently the top two players in the world and for the most part are expected to win the four grand slams in 2020.

Djokovic hasnt been all that crisp here but hes still showed better than Nadal. Djokovic needed two tiebreakers to beat out Kevin Anderson and South Africa, then also lost a set to Canadas Dennis Shapovalov and Russias Daniil Medvedev. The three-setter with Medvedev is understandable but being challenged by the others isnt a great look.

As for Nadal, his first four matches were all breezes as he won in straight sets but then he shockingly lost to David Goffin of Belgium and then needed three sets against Australias Alex De Minaur. De Minaur is ranked No. 18 in the world but that combined with the loss to Goffin indicates Nadal might not be in his best form.

I wouldnt be surprised if Serbia needed this one more than Spain, which might propel Djokovic to be a little more motivated in this one to get the win and force the tiebreak. Bet Djokovic here.

Whats interesting to note is Spain has a bit of a ringer of sorts for doubles here. If the match will go to the doubles tiebreaker, theyll bring in Carreo Busta, who has a decent track record in doubles. He once made it to the doubles finals at the U.S. Open, semis at the Australian Open and has three career doubles titles.

While hes not a dominant doubles player, hes at least had some success in this regard. As for Troicki, he has a 106-151 doubles record and other than the French Open, hasnt been past the third round in a doubles grand slam match.

The other note here is that Djokovic is not really a doubles guy. Hes played just one doubles match in this tournament as Serbia has been opting to use its other two players for the tiebreaker. As for Nadal, hes 136-74 in doubles the best mark of the four players participating. He also has 11 doubles titles overall.

That being the case, I like Bautista Agut to win his match, Djokovic to beat Nadal and Spain to beat Serbia in the doubles showdown.

The Bluegrass State has a major decision to make when it comes to sports gambling.

On Wednesday, a pair of vastly different proposals to legalize and regulate sportsbooks were filed in the state of Kentucky, one in the Senate and one in the House.

The proposals are Senate Bill 24 and House Bill 137. Both were pre-filed in 2019 but officially hit the table this week. Kentucky made a strong effort to pass legislation last year, but neither chamber in the legislature was able to advance a proposed law. Hopes are slightly higher this time around, thanks to this being a budget year and the assumption that the additional tax revenue might be more appealing to policymakers.

Kentucky is eyeing $20 mm to $48 mm for its coffers under legal sports wagering.

Kentucky sports betting is still very much a jump ball, not just because of its chances of coming to fruition, but also because there is no consensus on whether the state should or should not allow betting on collegiate sports involving Kentucky teams. Kentucky, home to no major professional sports franchises, is one of the nations hotbeds for college basketball. A ban on wagering on the University of Kentucky and Louisville, for example, would send some bettors across the border into Indiana, where the bets are legal.

SB 24 would allow betting on college sports, including the in-state teams, while HB 137 in its current form would allow collegiate sports betting but not on games or contests involving Kentucky schools.

SB 24 would create a Kentucky Gaming Commission to regulate sports betting, while HB 137 would put it under the regulation of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, sans the creation of a new gaming regulatory body. Kentucky already has online gambling in the form of horse betting.

The Senate version would establish a 25% tax on net sports wagering receipts. The House bill would have a 9.75% tax rate on adjusted gross revenue for retail wagering, while online/mobile would have a 14.25% rate.

Under HB 137, online/mobile sports betting accounts would need to be set up in person at a racetrack or other approved facility. SB 24 doesnt have provisions for online/mobile wagering. Additionally, the House version calls for online poker regulation as well, while the Senate version doesnt include online poker. Real-money online poker platforms would be regulated by the Kentucky Lottery Corporation.

Kentucky has a lot to decide on this legislative session, as the bills lay out plenty of different routes the state could potentially take to expand its gambling industry as other states in the region beef up theirs.

The bills shouldnt be thought of as in competition against one another. They signify that the legislature will have a thorough debate on all of its options when it comes to gambling expansion.

It is possible that the House and Senate pass different versions of proposed sports betting laws and the discrepancies could then be resolved in what is called a conference committee.

One notable item the bills do agree on is that the legal age for sports betting in Kentucky would be 18, the same age for gambling via the lottery. Its safe to assume that if the state legalizes sports wagering, Kentucky would draw gamblers under the age of 21 from the likes of Indiana and Tennessee.

In addition to HB 137 and SB 24, theres a casino bill on the table. That measure, House Bill 7, calls for the long-sought-after Las Vegas-style casinos in the state. Even though newly elected Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear campaigned on full-fledged casino gambling, in addition to both online/mobile sports betting and online poker sites, the casino bill is considered dead on arrival in the legislature.

Whether sports betting and/or online poker can pick up steam remains an open question. The legislature is in session until mid-April, so well know in short order if this year is different than 2019.

erizon Communications Inc. launched Yahoo Sports betting venture in New Jersey in November, and now plans to expand its online gambling partnership with MGM Resorts International to at least five more states this year.

The telecommunications giants plan is to expand as the states policies and platforms get sorted out, Verizon Media Chief Executive Officer Guru Gowrappan told Bloomberg Television at the CES electronics show in Las Vegas.

The online betting field is currently dominated by companies such as DraftKings Inc. and FanDuel Inc., but with 16 million active users on Yahoo Sports and a BetMGM sportsbook in New Jersey, Gowrappan said theres a foundation for a larger betting network. Its an important priority for us, and a huge bet for us, he said.

In November, the companies announced plans to let U.S. customers make wagers on the Yahoo Sports app using BetMGM, an online-gambling platform. The companies were also working on live events and other experiences for fans.

Verizon, the largest U.S. wireless carrier, has relatively few side businesses and has been focused almost completely on the rollout of 5G service. Gowrappan spent last year restructuring the media business, previously called Oath. He calls this year a building period.

In August, Verizon sold blogging platform Tumblr as part of a broader strategy of moving away from areas like user-generated content and social media. Gowrappan said additional asset sales are unlikely, but there could be M&A opportunities in both content and advertising.

In August 2019 an ambitious project was undertaken where six young talents ofIndia were to train under the 14th World Champion Vladimir Kramnik.Kramnik, who retired from chess in January 2019, had been quite busy with his post-retirement projects both in chess and beyond. However,seeing the talent crop of India and thepotential these youngsters possessed, he decided tofree up ten days in his schedule for the training camp.It was Frederic Friedel, the founder of ChessBase, who had conceived this idea just a few days after Kramnik retired from professional chess.

There was no question of talent in Indian chess. Kramnik was ready. What was now required was a sponsor, who would fund this entire project. After several months of searching, it was Microsense Networks Private Limited that came forward. Mr. Kailasanathan, the Managing Director of Microsense Private Limited and a former Tamil Nadu Chess State Champion in 1972,found this project in sync with the mission of Microsense. The company wants to create world class chess players in the years to come and training with Kramnik was sure to help them in their vision.

But the camp was not the end of it all. After its completion Vladimir was in touch withthe games of the students. He would regularly communicate with me about howa youngster had got it all wrong in the opening, oranother youngster had to simply get his act together in endgame technique. It was Kramnik'shigh level ofinvolvement in the projectand subsequent results of the students that convinced Kailasanathan and Microsense of the need to continue these camps.

Praggnanandhaa went on to become the World Youth Champion in the under-18 section and also won the London Chess Classic FIDE Open. Raunak Sadhwani scored his final GM norm with a tremendous performance at theGrand Swiss 2019 in Isle of Man and became India's 65th GM.

The second camp was planned in January, but this time instead of eight Indians travelling toEurope, it was decided that Kramnik should come down to India. The last time Vladimir Kramnik was in the country was back inthe 90s when heplayed a match in Sanghi Nagar against Boris Gelfand. Vladimir agreed to the proposal. As the camp had beenvery useful to the youngsters, it was decided that the number of studentsshould be increased from 6 to 14. The logisticalarrangements wouldbe much less and it made sense to have more talents working with thelegend. Butof course, it would be too much for Kramnik to work with 14youngsters alone. Anotherworld-class player was required and the naturalchoice was India's five-time World Champion Vishy Anand.

At a felicitation ceremony held in Chennai in October 2019, Anand showed his keenness in joining the programas a trainer in the monthsto come. But in January,it wasn't really feasible for Vishy as he was participating in theTata Steel Chess tournament 2020 in Wijk AanZee.It is quite probable that Vishy would join in for the next camp. The search for a world-class player / trainer continued.

Boris Gelfand needs no introduction. He has been one of the greatest chess players ever tohave graced the game of chess. He fought against Vishy Anand in the World Championships 2012 and after the Classicalgames the score was tied at 6-6! Anand eventually won the rapidtiebreakers, but it was clear that Boris had been a worthy opponent for the four-time World Champion back then. Over the years, Gelfand has continued to fight at the highest leveland it is this very experience ofhis that made him a worthy partnerfor Vladimir Kramnik in the training camp.

The trainers weredecided,it was now time to select the students. The list of the top players in the country between the age of 12-16 was created. Some players above the age of 16 were also considered. However, the main aim was to have the best and youngest players of India attend the camp. This list of probable candidates was submitted to Kramnik and Gelfand, who went over the names with great care and selected the 8 players in addition to the six who already were in the first camp.

Arjun Erigaisi has raced to an Elo of 2575. The 16-year-oldhas been extremely consistent andwe have seen his Elo climb upwards for quite some timenow. India's 64th GM isclearly the one who plays the least number of tournaments amongall of these youngsters. The fact that he could become a GM by playingsuch few events, shows what a consistent player he is.

Sreeshwan Maralakshikari is a talentto watch out for. Just 13 years old, he is already an IM. Financial difficulties and lack of structured training have proved to be impediments in this youngster's progress, but with this camp, he should be able to make headway towards his GM title pretty soon.

When is it held:The first session will begin onJanuary8thand the last day of the camp will beJanuary17th, 2020.

How many hours each day:Each day the training camp will have six hours of training divided into twothree-hour sessions

Whereis it held:The camp is held in a villa on the East Coast Road in Chennai and no parents are allowed to be a part of the camp. It's a residential training program.

How will the students be taught:There will be two groups created and trainingthat will happen in two separate rooms. Each group willget time with both Kramnik and Gelfand for training.

Innovations:There are several innovations that will be seen at the training camp:Firstly a Michelin Starred chef will be preparing food for the youngsters throughout the event. Secondly a yoga expert will train the youngsters.
