North Korea WW3: Kim Jong-un tells Trump he will NEVER penetrate ‘impregnable fortress’ – Daily Star

Posted: May 9, 2017 at 3:43 pm

NORTH Korea issued a chilling threat to Donald Trump warning US forces will never get into their impenetrable fortress.

The North warned that its line of defence cannot be breached by anything the US President has in his arsenal.

The North Korean government also vowed to continue their fight against the US in the face of Trumps perceived aggression on the peninsula.

Speaking through the state-sponsored Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the government said: "The US and its followers adhered to its largest-ever nuclear threats and scheme for pressure and sanctions to rob us of everything we cherish.

Since 2008, photographer Eric Lafforgue ventured to North Korea six times. Thanks to digital memory cards, he was able to save photos that was forbidden to take inside the segregated state

Our line of defense is an impregnable fortress

But our line of defense is an impregnable fortress.

The statement comes as Kim celebrates the first anniversary since being elected the chairman of the countrys ruling party.

North Korea's state media praised Kim's accomplishments, saying the country has withstood what it calls "US nuclear blackmail and sanctions".

The country's main newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, echoed the KCNA statement saying the country would never give up its nuclear weapons.

"At a time when we are going eyeball to eyeball with the US, the current grave situation on the peninsula calls for ceaselessly marching toward implementing tasks unveiled at the party congress," the paper read.

We cherish nuclear deterrents and will not give up them whatever people say.

As Donald Trump has promised to start an arms race, we take a look at the futuristic weapons being developed for the US military.

Kim has suffered two embarrassing missile test failures in recent weeks.

But the tubby tyrant has hit out at claims the US hacked his launches, vowing to carry out weekly missile tests in defiance.

Meanwhile, Trumps troops have carried out large-scale exercises on the despots doorstep.

And his armada headed by the USS Carl Vinson is in the sea of Japan as a stark reminder to the dictator that total war is an ever present option.

WW3 North Korea: US tells China to ‘topple Kim Jong-un OR ELSE’ – Daily Star

Posted: at 3:43 pm

A US official has said China "must be prepared to topple Kim Jong-un" or Donald Trump will take it into his own hands.

Condoleezza Rice, US Secretary of State under George W. Bush, said China must be prepared for instability on its border pledging a US intervention if it fails to act.

She said in order to deal with Kim Jong-un's threats you have to change the Chinese calculus.

"You have to say to China, even if you have to take very tough steps that might ultimately collapse the regime, you have to take steps because we will if you don't," Ms Rice said.

Theyre worried most about the collapse of the regime, and their long border and instability on their border.

And I think that's the message that you're starting to see.

Ms Rice warned that the tubby tyrant is "unstable" and his attempts at nuclear armament should not go unpunished.

That cannot be countenanced by any American President," she added.

War between the US and North Korea is creeping ever closer as the war of words between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un intensifies.

Trump's "armada" is currently carrying out large-scale exercises in the sea of Japan near the Korean peninsula.

While Kim Jong-un has promised "weekly" missile tests in the face of perceived US aggression.

Anonymous predicts WW3 is near, what do they know that you don’t? – Catholic Online

Posted: at 3:43 pm

Is their prediction accurate?

The hacktivist group Anonymous has put out a new video predicting the imminent start of World War 3. The flashpoint, they say is North Korea, and that once conflict erupts there, it will quickly escalate to include the rest of the world. How accurate is this prediction, and what does Anonymous know that we don't?

Does Anonymous know something we don't?

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) -- A six-minute video from the hacktivist collective, Anonymous claims the world is on the brink of World War 3. Their spokesperson wearing the signature Guy Fawkes mask and with their voice disguised, lists the details and circumstances that will lead to world war.

They point out warnings across the region. Japan warned its civilians they may only have 10 minutes to take shelter should North Korea launch a rocket at the country. South Korea warned it would be impossible to protect its civilians from a surprise artillery strike from the North, whose artillery is just 35 miles from Seoul. An estimated 10,000 to 40,000 people could lose their lives within the first hour. China has asked its citizens to leave North Korea entirely.

China and Russia have also moved troops to the North Korean border, ostensibly to intercept and aid any refugees who cross from the North in event of war.

President Trump's surprise test of a Minuteman III missile from Vandenburg AFB also came up, as a demonstration of U.S. power.

Finally, the hacktivists mentioned talks between the U.S.A., Philippines, and Australia as well as the deployment of forces in northern Australia.

Does Anonymous know something we don't? It doesn't seem so. Every evidence they cited above is public information, well known to anyone paying attention.

So is the world really on the brink of world war?

Not likely, according to most analysis. While North Korea seems unwilling to back down from their nuclear commitment, they have not proceeded with their anticipated test, which a month ago appeared imminent. They have launched several rockets, but none of the launches appear successful. But the North can also learn from failed launches.

It seems China is the key player because North Korea relies on China for most of its resources. China is also the number 1 market for North Korean goods. China has indicated that it is losing patients with the North, and has called upon the Hermit Kingdom to deescalate the situation there. So far, the stern warning from China appears to be working.

Additionally, the U.S. and its allies in the region will need time to prepare. One carrier battle group is probably not enough to attack and cripple the North's offensive capabilities. While the North's nuclear capability can be neutralized, its massive conventional abilities means it can still inflict punishment on South Korea and possibly Japan.

Before the west can think about attacking the North, more naval assets are required in the area, and South Korea and Japan will need warning to protect their civilians. We will see it coming, and so far, it does not appear to be coming.

Functional beverages using nootropics will rise, predicts new energy drink LGND – BeverageDaily.com

Posted: at 3:42 pm

With consumers looking for alternatives to high doses of caffeine and sugar, nootropics could become the new norm for energy drinks, believes new brand LGND.

The drink, which is described as an energy drink with a nootropic profile, is designed to not only give a quick energy boost but also help the performance of cognitive abilities such as focus and memorization.

While based in Japan, the drink has been developed in collaboration with a lab in Los Angeles and will debut with production and distribution in the US before expanding to Asia.

Consumers want a product with a quick but sustainable energy boost

The idea for LGND goes back to CEO Sebastian Westmans days as an engineering student, when he became tired of the negative effects of a high caffeine and sugar intake. The idea has been on his mind ever since, he said.

Westman says the aim of the functional beverage is to help you identify your edge, and sharpen it to its greatest point.

LGNDs products will give you that much needed quick energy boost without the usual crash-and-burn sensation that you experience with many other energy and coffee drinks in existence today, he said. LGND effectively energizes you, supplying you with strong long-term effects.

The active nootropic ingredients used in LGND are acetyl L-carnitine, Alpha GPC, N-acetyl L-tyrosine, citicoline, L-carnitine, Bacopa monnieri and turmeric root extract, as well as natural green tea extract and caffeine.

Nootropics are most commonly seen as supplements. But Westman believes the presence of functional beverages using nootropics will increase in the coming years.

We like to see ourselves as pioneers on the energy drink market with a vison to change the norm for what an energy drink is and what to expect from it, said Westman.

We believe that the products that you see on the market today are either very unhealthy or do not deliver what the consumer is looking for. Consumers want a product that will give a quick but sustainable energy boost without the crash-and-burn effect. And on top of that it needs to be healthy.

Nootropics

Substances that are marketed as improving cognitive function: particularly executive function, memory, learning or intelligence.

The name is derived from the Greek word noos, meaning mind, and trope, turning.

Nootropic supplements are sometimes associated with high performing work environments such as Silicon Valley, dubbed as smart drugs.

I firmly believe that nootropics will be the next norm for energy drinks. In the next few years we will see a steady rise on functional beverages utilizing nootropics for their cognitive benefits. Nootropics arent anything more special than caffeine, but have the potential to be just as common as caffeine and caffeinated beverages.

Nootropic supplements have been popular in high performing work environments such as Silicon Valley for a few years. The reason they arent more widespread is because of two major factors; one is that the price for the supplements is fairly steep, and secondly is the lack of information spread.

There are a few beverages on the market with active nootropic ingredients but the price per pop is on the higher scale.

Building the brand

LGND will debut in the US but Westman says distribution mechanisms will differ from traditional methods.

We're going to focus a lot on eCommerce, sponsorship programs and subscriptions. This means offering a few months sponsorship to start-ups and driven individuals that we see are in line with our vision, and thereafter offer a subscription plan to a discounted price. We're also planning on an on-sales approach.

We want to have a proper buzz and traction around our brand before approaching distributors.

Our vision is to move to global distribution within the next three years and we hope to be able to break into emerging markets such as China and India.

VIX Closes at Lowest Since 1993 as Trance Deepens in Market – Bloomberg

Posted: at 3:41 pm

For anyone nourished on volatility, the famine in global markets is worsening.

With the French election ending in a victory for Emmanuel Macron, one more thing said to threaten global stability has made a quiet exit. For investors already looking at record-low price turbulence, the defeat of far-right candidate Marine Le Pen means even more risk removed from the table.

European stock volatility measured by the Euro Stoxx 50 Volatility Index fell to the lowest since March on Monday, even as a two-week advance in both the euro and global stocks in the lead-up to the final vote left little room for a relief rally. At the same time, the CBOE Volatility Index decreased 7.6 percent to 9.77, the lowest since 1993.

Complacency has returned in such quick fashion that its starting to feel like 2005-06, when nothing seemed to faze the broader markets, George Goncalves, a fixed income strategist at Nomura, wrote in a note to clients.

Volatility in the U.S. equity market has dissipated as stock investors whistled past geopolitical unknowns from populist politics to heightened threats from North Korea. While trade agreements, tax reform and the future of financial regulation may hang in the balance, investors have instead focused on one of the best global earnings seasons in a decade and signs of economic growth.

Calm has blanketed other markets as well. Volatility in U.S. Treasuries is down 24 percent since last month and fell to the lowest since October, according to a Merrill Lynch index that gauges volatility from options prices. In the currency market, aJPMorgan Chase & Co. index of volatility in G-7 currencies is at its lowest in more than two years.

The VIX is down 32 percent since the first round of French voting two weeks ago. Swings in the S&P 500 have also narrowed this year, with the benchmark gauge moving an average 0.31 percent each day, compared with 0.58 percent throughout 2016, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Thats happened as global equity markets rally 9 percent so far this year, buoyed by double-digit percentage gains in European markets, led by surges in French and German shares.

The explanation may lie in economic data, both in the U.S. and abroad, that has either kept up with analyst expectations or exceeded them. While the rate at which U.S. economic reports beat estimates has fallen the last month, its roughly equal to where it began the year, judging by Bloombergs Economic Surprise Index.

Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve has brushed aside signs of weakness in the worlds largest economy. Central bankers left benchmark rates unchanged at their meeting last week but signaled theyre still on track to hike two more times this year, an expectation shared by market participants betting on the path for rates.

Risk-taking began to deteriorate earlier this year as ambiguity brought about by the Politics of Rage dampened strategic risk taking, Barclays Plc analysts led by Giovanni Paci wrote in a note Sunday. Resolution of near-term risks, with no other clear themes or major risk events to trade tactically, is likely to take activity and volatility further down.

Prepare to Enter Harsh Reality, a Brand New Cyberpunk Thriller – Dread Central

Posted: at 3:40 pm

Are you the type who plays too much video games, is always on the computer and doesnt get outside very much? Do you like the type of science fiction that Philip K. Dick and Paul Verhoeven unleashed back in the day? If so, youll be pleased to know that Ive just discovered the next promising short film for people like us.

Prepare to step into a neon-drenched future dystopia with Harsh Reality, relive the glory daysof edgy sci-fi action with a message about our relationship with technology, and bask in the synthy goodness. The film tells the story of aprofessional gamer whos kidnapped and subjected to a mind-altering VR program. And who knows? With the way technology is evolving, that will probably happen someday. So lets enjoy our freedom while we can, but in the meantime, we can support Harsh Reality and enjoy that too.

The film is directed by Iain Marcks (American Cinematographer Magazine),whose films have previously appeared on Fandor and ShortsTV. Starring will be comedian and pro gamer Jeff Seal, Chris Manley (Cirque du Soleil), and Shaina Feinberg (This American Life). Joe Yanick, of the excellent noisemakersSyndromes, will serve as a Producer while, AntoniMaiovvi, the co-founder of the sublime Giallo Disco Records, will bring the glorious synths. Capping off the team is Assistant Director, Heather Buckley (We Are Still Here) and Director of Photography, Eduardo Mayen (El ReysFrom Dusk Till Dawn).

For updates check out the Energeia Films Facebook page, and if youd like to support the campaign then head on over to Indiegogo and check out the perks.

Synopsis: HARSH REALITY is set in Central City, a teeming metropolis that was on the verge of bankruptcy until a cartel of banks and multinational conglomerates stepped in to take control of its sagging infrastructure. Known as the Central Provisional Authority Corporation, theyve created a utilities monopoly, replaced the police with a private security force, shuttered the public University, and begun mass deportations. Meanwhile, the citizens of Central City have begun to organize and resist the hostile takeover.

This is not a future that will be, but one that might be.

Our influences range from RoboCop, The Twilight Zone, and Max Headroom, to the work of Philip K. Dick, Douglas Rushkoff, and Harlan Ellison but HARSH REALITY is part of a larger original narrative that includes two feature films, one of which ZERO SUM has already been written and is in development, to be followed by THE TRANSIT OF VENUS.

Cyberpunk Endless Runner ‘Retroshifter’ Needs Beta Testers … – Touch Arcade

Posted: at 3:40 pm

Murdercloud Studios, a duo that must really not like Cloud from Final Fantasy VII [$15.99], has announced their new game Retroshifter. Described as a cyberpunk-themed runner, you'll have to change the color on your Retroshifters to match the lasers that appear in your path, in order to keep running. Do well, and the focus ability will let you catch your breah a bit through the difficult sections. This is described as an endless runner, so high scores are the goal.

However, there are some various unlockables for you to get in order to customize your experience, such as new characters. New abilities can also be had, and new game modes will become available as you play. Retroshifter is estimated to hit on May 28th, but Murdercloud could use some help beta testing in the final stretch. Check out the forum thread for some GIFs, additional details, and instructions on how to sign up for the beta test.
