Although the network has wavered on a few occasions, Fox News coverage of President Donald Trump has been notably favorable to him since he took office more than three years ago.
So perhaps an eyebrow or two mightve been raised this month when the network, after nearly a year-and-a-half of disconnecting from the social media network altogether, started using its Twitter account again.
Fox News stopped using Twitter, according to reporting from WhatsTrending.com, after the account Smash Racism DC published his home address to encourage people to peacefully protest his coverage of the Mueller investigation and other Trump-related controversies. While Carlson maintained at the time that the protests were violent, media reports showed that there wasnt the type of behavior present that he said was there.
Nevertheless, the doxxing of Carlson resulted in Smash Racism DCs tweet to be removed but because it didnt happen at the speed to Fox News liking, out of protest the network discontinued its use of the platform.
Yet on March 18 of this year, the network decided it was time to start its account back up, advertising its return as a means for people to keep up with all the latest COVID-19 news.
However, it seems that their return to the social media site, during this time of crisis, comes back with its usual pro-Trump bias. A quick look at the companys past 10 tweets (as of 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday evening) finds that half of them involve Trump and all five of those tweets are arguably a positive spin of news events over the last 24 hours for the president.

Indeed, unlike other networks, the Fox News Twitter account doesnt even have a single tweet that mentions the fact that the president believes 100,000 to 200,000 deaths the result of coronavirus would be, in his mind, a very good job.
Theres not much evidence to suggest as much, but anyone with a discerning eye can see that the network appears to be glossing over some pretty important headlines that have occurred over the past week or so. Which begs the question: is Fox News return to Twitter a means to promote a pro-Trump agenda?
