Bragg's ORYX Gaming Live in the UK with Novibet - Business Wire

Although the industry has not yet launched, Missouri is proving another focal point of sports betting interest. Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG) has signed a partnership with Affinity Interactive to secure access to the market once the state enables online gambling.

GNOG is ready to launch both an online sports betting and gaming platform through this partnership. The launch will come with the help of Affinitys land-based properties in the state.

While policymakers have not agreed on any particular draft bill, chances are any outcome would require a tethered option. This means that any license holder in the state would need to have a land-based partner. GNOG seems to think as much, and it has already teamed up with Affinity.

The tether option makes sense as online is likely to dominate any future gambling activity and not offering a revenue-shared model through tethering would diminish retail gambling properties revenue, and possibly put them out of business.

Internet casinos, poker and sports betting in Michigan generated $1.4 billion in revenue in 2021, the first year online gambling was operational in the state.

Internet casino gaming generated $1.1 billion in revenue while internet sports betting produced $292.2 million, according to numbers released Tuesday by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.Meanwhile, bettors wagered $3.7 billion at online sportsbooks last year.

Michigan became the third state in U.S. history to generate more than $1 billion in annual revenue from online casino games and poker, and the first to do so in its first year, according to PlayMichigan.com, a site that covers gaming in the state.

It took time for online sports betting to truly ramp up, but online casinos have flourished from the very beginning,Eric Ramsey, an analyst for thePlayUSA.comnetwork, which includesPlayMichigan.com, said in a statement Tuesday. Few saw Michigan hitting $1 billion in revenue over the first year, especially considering that no state had ever reached that level before. To do it in year one has been impressive, creating a significant stream of tax revenue from the state along the way.

Online gambling operatorspaid $201.67 million in internet gaming taxes and fees to the state, and $7.27 million in online sports betting taxes and fees. Detroit's three casinos paid $59.35 million in wagering taxes and municipal services fees to the city for 2021. And tribal operators across the state reported making $22.39 million in payments to governing bodies.

For online casino games and poker, operator BetMGM, affiliated with MGM Grand Detroit, had the highest revenue for the year of more than $417 million.

For online sports betting, the leader in 2021 in total handle was operator FanDuel, which is affiliated with MotorCity Casino Hotel, with more than $993 million in bets.

In a company news release, Chris Looney, Chief Commercial Officer for Bragg Gaming, said their partnership with Interlaken is another important step in our efforts to grow our game provision in the industry.

Market gains:

According to Oryx, the seven brick-and-mortars that offered online games in the Central European country in 2020 reached gross gaming revenue (GGR) of around US$203 million (CHF186.8 million). Released by the Swiss gambling regulator, the figure dwarfs the US $26 million (CHF23.5 million) that was reportedly generated the year prior when there were three fewer casinos operating online in Switzerland.

Also commenting on the supply deal, Jens Sellgrad, Chief Operating Officer, at Interlaken, added that they are always looking to have the latest quality content available to their players and this agreement with ORYX certainly delivers that.

The CCO explains that the seamless manner in which the delivery has taken place is especially pleasing and they are confident this solid start will continue through their relationship.

Third Switzerland deal:

The Interlaken partnership is the third for Oryx in Switzerland after inking deals with Grand Casino Baden for its online casino brand jackpots.ch. in December 2021 and with Grand Casino Luzern in November 2020 under the mycasino.ch brand. And is also the latest in theproviders continued push across European regulated markets, with the deal coming on the heels of recent strategic entries into the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Greek (Novibet) markets.

Oryx Gaming is currently licensed by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), the Greek Hellenic Commission (HGC) andthe Romanian National Gambling Office (ONJN), while its content is either certified or approved in various other key jurisdictions.
