The Differences Between The UK and USAs Gambling Industry – South Florida Caribbean News

Posted: December 19, 2021 at 6:38 pm

The United Kingdoms online gambling industry is known as one of the worlds largest regulated gambling industries. Compared to it, the USAs online gambling industry is new and steadily growing, but both countries operate their gambling industry in different ways. If youd like to know what the differences are between each countrys gambling industry, youve come to the right place as weve covered it all below!

In the United Kingdom, online gambling is legalised under the Gambling Act 2005. All gambling in the country is regulated by an organisation known as the UK Gambling Commission, which was founded as part of the Gambling Act.

The Commission is responsible for vetting and licensing all online casinos and their sister sites. It ensures that they all follow its licensing conditions to keep players safe and secure when playing. If casino operators fail to adhere to their licensing conditions, they are struck with fines or face license suspensions, forcing them to leave the UK market.

In the United States, things work a little differently. In most states, traditional online gambling, such as slots and table games, is still illegal except in Michigan, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. Meanwhile, states including Mississippi, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut are currently in talks to legalise online casino gambling.

Sports betting is a different matter. Back in 2018, the US Supreme Court overturned the 1992 Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, which barred states with the exception of Nevada from allowing gambling on sports. Since then, several states have legalised online sports betting, while others legalised in-person sports betting.

Each state has varying rules on gambling and how its regulated. For example, Pennsylvania uses its Gaming Control Board to regulate gambling, but Florida has outlawed most forms of gambling. However, the state of Florida struck an agreement with the Seminole Tribe of Florida this year to allow sports betting at brick-and-mortar and online casinos. Unfortunately, a federal judge overturned the deal last month, ruling that it was in violation of the Florida state constitution and the federal Indian gambling law. Regardless of the legality of gambling in US states, the American gambling industry is very much in a state of flux as its constantly changing and developing.

As mentioned, the United Kingdoms gambling industry is one of the largest, offering players a gigantic selection of casino games and online casino websites to choose from. This means theres something for everyone, regardless of your interests in either traditional casino games, sports betting, bingo, or something else.

However, the games and casino or gambling sites available in the United States depend on the state and what has been legalised. States that have legalised gambling generally focus on sports betting, which means players are restricted to only betting on sports with no access to traditional online casino games. This restriction can be incredibly frustrating for players in the USA as theyre not given much content to enjoy when compared to players in the UK.

Despite its already large size, we believe that the UK gambling industry will continue to expand as additional casino operators and game developers look to launch in the nation. However, this is subject to the Governments review of the Gambling Act 2005, which could see a series of changes imposed within the next twelve months.

Similarly, we believe that the United States gambling industry will continue to grow and expand too. Well likely see more US states legalise sports betting and other gambling activities. This could potentially lead to the legalisation of traditional casino gaming, giving US players a better choice of gaming to enjoy.

The Top Gambling Movies – Film Threat

Posted: at 6:38 pm

When you think of casinos, what comes to mind? Money, glamour, and most likely some kind of drama are involved as well! Here are some great films you should see.

When you think of gambling movies, what comes to mind? A lot of people might say Rounders or Oceans Eleven with their iconic movie scenes. But there are many other films that also have casino scenes. One such film is the Netflix release, Mollys Game.

This movie tells the true story of a woman who ran one of the worlds most exclusive poker games for over ten years before being arrested in an FBI sting operation. It stars Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba

Here are some more movies that made it to the cinema with great casino scenes, starting with Rounders.

Rounders is a 1998 film starring Matt Damon and Edward Norton. It tells the story of two friends who become involved in underground poker games after one of them quits his job as a law student.

The cast also includes John Malkovich, Gretchen Mol, and Famke Janssen.

Rounders was well-received by critics and has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 65%.

Mark Wahlbergs movie, The Gambler, is also about underground poker games. But this time, the stakes are much higher.

The cast also includes Brie Larson, Jessica Lange, Michael Kenneth Williams, and John Goodman. The Gambler was released in December 2014 and received mixed reviews from critics.

It has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 44%. The original 1974 film was much better with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 80%.

The original Oceans Eleven was released in 2001 and starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, and Andy Garcia. Oceans Eleven is a true remake of the 1960 Rat Pack movie. The movie follows a group of eleven criminals who team up to rob three Las Vegas casinos simultaneously.

The cast is full of A-list actors and the film itself was very well-made. It received positive reviews from critics and has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 83%.

Two years later, the gang got back together for Oceans Twelve. This time around, they have to deal with their previous heist and also try to rob a new target.

The movie was released in 2004 and has an even larger cast than the first one, with Bernie Mac, Don Cheadle, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Andy Garcia (again), Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Shaobo Qin, Eddie Jemison, and Elliott Gould all making appearances.

In 2007 Oceans 13 came out with a similar plot to Oceans Eleven: the team has to deal with their previous heist coming back to haunt them as well as try another robbery of a different casino owner who is attempting revenge on them by ruining Danny Ocean financially. This movie also stars George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon once more, and other big named actors such as Al Pacino, Ellen Barkin, and Bruce Willis.

The movie was generally positively received by audiences and critics alike with an approval rating of 69% on Rotten Tomatoes.

These are all fairly recent movies, lets look at some classics

The Sting is a 1973 film starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford. It tells the story of two con artists who team up to take down a mob boss.

The cast also includes Robert Shaw, Charles Durning, Eileen Brennan, Ray Walston, and James Gammon. The Sting was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won seven, including Best Picture.

Martin Scorseses 1995 film Casino, tells the true story of mob-connected casino owner Frank Rosenthal and his interactions with the FBI, the Kansas City Mafia, and various other criminal organizations.

The cast includes Robert De Niro as Frank Rosenthal, Sharon Stone as Ginger McKenna (Rosenthals wife), Joe Pesci as Nicky Santoro (the main man in the Chicago Mafia), and James Woods as Lester Diamond. Casino was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

A cowboy movie in which the main character gets in over his head with a group of poker players.

The cast includes Robert Taylor, Dean Martin, and Brian Keith among others. It was released in 1968 to positive reviews but didnt do very well at the box office upon release or after it came out on home video, then cable TV.

When talking about movies that feature casinos, this Bond movie is a classic Casino Royale.

James Bond is not just about crazy action sequences, heres one that gives us some great casino scenes. Casino Royale follows British Secret Service agent 007-James Bond as he tries to beat Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelson) at high stakes baccarat so that MI6 can bankrupt him and stop his terrorist organization from financing further attacks against Western Europe.

Daniel Craig plays an older and more jaded James Bond, but he still has all of his charm and wit. Its a fantastic movie with great casino scenes that have the audience on the edge of their seats!

One thing is for sure, movies that feature great casino scenes are atmospheric and invoke an air of luxury and glamour and none more so than Diamonds are Forever.

This Bond movie stars Sean Connery as James Bond and Jill St. John as Tiffany Case. It is the seventh film in the series and was released in 1971. The plot follows Bond, as he attempts to find out who killed his friend Felix Leiter and stop them before they can give SPECTRE unlimited power.

The cast also includes Charles Gray, Lana Wood, Putter Smith, and Jimmy Dean. Diamonds are Forever was nominated for two Academy Awards including Best Sound Effects Editing.

So there you have it some of the best casino movies! Whether theyre classics or more recent releases, these films all provide great entertainment value with exciting gambling action thatll keep you on the edge of your seat.

The Commish’s gambling picks are in for Week 15 of the NFL season – Courier & Press

Could COVID outbreak derail final stretch of NFL season? | Sports Seriously

Sports Seriously: In this week's episode we break down the growing concerns over the recent COVID surge and the effect it will have on sports as a whole. We also sit down to chat with Deion Sanders and NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah.

Sports Seriously, USA TODAY

Week 14 was one of the most lucrative weekends of the year for the sports betting public. An avalanche of chalk bets paid huge dividendsafterheavy favorites covered spreads across the board.

Favorites went 11-1 straight up on Sunday and 10-2 against the spread. Selecting the over was also a winning endeavor in nineof 12 games.

COVID, however, is once again having a major impact on the NFL, so its important to keep a close eye on the news prior to placing any wagers.

Two-team teaser:

RAVENS (+3) atBrowns:Lamar Jackson left the game due to injury, but it wasnt enough to prevent this ticket from cashing. Browns 24, Ravens 22 -(WIN)

UNDER (51.5) Rams atCardinals:The Cardinals kicked a meaningless field goal with 37 seconds remaining to kill this wager. Rams 30, Cardinals 23 -(LOSS)

Prop bets:

Five-team money line parlay:Cardinals, Bills, Cowboys, Buccaneers, 49ers (+133)

DOLPHINS(-9.5) vs. Jets:The Jets continue to struggleto score as quarterback Zach Wilson is last in the league in completion percentage. Miami is 5-0 in its last five games against the spreadwhile the Jets are 1-9-1 against the spread in their last 11 matchups with the Dolphins.

TEXANS (+5) vs. Jaguars:Following the firing of Jacksonville head coach Urban Meyer, theline has moved in favor of the Jaguars. Look for the Jaguars to ride a wave of emotion earlybut falter late against a respectable Texans defense.

UNDER (44)Bengals atBroncos:This game has huge playoff implications for both teams, so expect each to be conservative in their approach. Against the point total this year, the Bengals are 2-4 on the roadwhile the Broncos are 3-10.

Hibs are gambling on Shaun Maloney its up to him to deliver results, says Kris Boyd… – The Scottish Sun

Posted: at 6:38 pm

SHAUN MALONEY is a quiet man of Scottish football.

Time will tell if hes ready to make a big noise at Hibs.

2

Shaun was my Scotland team-mate and he was an unbelievable player. Ive always had a lot of time for him. Hes a quiet guy and a deep thinker.

We were on Sky Sports duty together at Tannadice recently and he speaks well about the game.

Hes not the loud type but as a manager sometimes that can help because when you do speak it has more impact.

Shaun is articulate, he has good ideas on football and is leaving a top job as Belgium assistant.

But there is no doubt this is a gamble by Hibs owner Ron Gordon.

The American is taking a calculated risk in going for Shaun and clearly feels he will benefit the club.

Read our transfer news live blog for all the very latest at your club

Now its over to the new man to deliver results in his first job as a manager.

But this is a completely different challenge to what Shaun has faced in his coaching career so far.

For the record, I didnt agree with the sacking of Jack Ross. I felt it was the WRONG decision.

Yet thats football and Hibs have handed Shaun a great opportunity for his first gig. Easter Road owner Gordon will soon find out if hes ready for it.

Shaun has been working under Roberto Martinez with Belgium and Im sure hes learned a lot.

But the squad hes about to inherit at Hibs is a lot different to the one hes been helping to coach.

Shaun wont need anyone to tell him that. This is a big job and Hibs have underachieved in the league so far this season.

They also have the potential to challenge for European places.

Too many poor results cost Jack his job and now Shaun has to find a way to change that.

He will need to rely heavily on the coaches around him and it looks like Gary Caldwell will be his No2.

They know each other well and that makes sense, although I always feel ex-bosses still have that niggle to be No1.

Craig Samson and David Gray can also support him as coaches, but Shaun will want to be his own man.

He will have clear ideas on how he wants to approach this job but he will also need backing from above.

There is a transfer window coming up and, given Hibs league results recently, they need new blood.

Im sure he has assurances that there is room to freshen up the squad because that is required.

What does intrigue me, though, is the trend of the American-owned Scottish clubs making similar managerial appointments.

Aberdeen, Dundee, Dundee United and Hibs they all now have young coaches who are starting out in management.

Stephen Glass, James McPake, Tam Courts and now Shaun have been drafted in by US owners.

Im not saying this is right or wrong, but if I was an experienced Scottish manager these days Id be more than a tad worried.

Is the door closed to them now? If it is, I dont know why.

All of these four clubs have gone down the road of appointing an inexperienced boss.

I feel for the older managers as plenty of them still have a lot to offer at that level.

On the flip side, its good to see younger guys get a chance, although I do wonder if its a control thing by those behind the scenes.

BETTING SPECIAL - BEST NEW CUSTOMER OFFERS AND FREE BETS

I suspect that is the case at Dundee United, but who knows with the other owners.

One man I didnt expect to be in full control at Hampden is caretaker Gray.

He will be leading the team out at Hampden and many of his own fans will fancy their chances.

Celtic have a lot of injuries and I can see why Hibs supporters will feel the cup is there to be won.

But I still feel they will have to be at the very top of their game to come away with the trophy.

They will have to reach the levels they did against Rangers in the semi-final, no matter how many injuries Celtic have.

Credit to Ange Postecoglous side. Despite losing so many forwards they have found a way to win games.

Yes, they are weaker without Jota, Kyogo Furuhashi and James Forrest.

But Celtic have kept winning and there is no doubt we have a title race on our hands this season.

Injuries aside, Postecoglous team are in a good place right now and I always feel the first trophy is a chance to put down a marker.

If Celtic can grind out another win, it would be a huge boost so early in his reign.

More than 1,000 people have sworn off gambling in Massachusetts – WWLP.com

Posted: December 17, 2021 at 10:43 am

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) More than 1,000 people have sworn off gambling at Massachusetts casinos, including MGM Springfield.

The state gaming commission says theyve reached a voluntary self-exclusion (VSE) milestone with 1,020 active individuals.

Mark Vander Linden, MGCs Director of Research and Responsible Gaming, said, This milestone is significant but represents a small percentage of those struggling to control their gambling. The VSE program is designed to honor and support a persons decision to stop gambling.

People who enroll in the program arent able to enter any casino. Breaking the rule and getting caught would mean theyd have to forfeit their winnings. Each casino in the state, including MGM Springfield, has an info center on VSE if you are interested in joining or you can call the 24-hour Safer Gaming Education Line at 1-800-426-1234.

We know that problem gambling can have devastating consequences, not just to the individual but everyone around them. Enrolling in the VSE program can be a significant step towards better health and relationships said Marlene Warner, Executive Director of the MACGH.

In 2013 and 2014, research shows 2 percent, or roughly 110,000 adults in Massachusetts met the criteria for gambling problems and 8 percent, or 440,000 were at risk of experiencing harm.

Legality of Gambling in Maryland Compared to Other States – Eye On Annapolis – Eye On Annapolis

Posted: at 10:43 am

Gambling legality in Maryland is somewhat of a back-and-forth story dating back to the 1700s when charitable lotteries first became popular. These lotteries were eventually banned but began the drama surrounding legislation and prohibition regarding any sort of gambling in the US state.

In the 1950s, the state was introduced to a little-known gambling machine called a slot, which exploded into popularity and earned the state the nickname Little Vegas. Unfortunately, this slot machine outbreak was short-lived and also ended up being made illegal.

There was a short resurgence of the lottery in 1973, but it wasnt really until 2012 that the state saw the opening of its first casino, after the powers that be had noticed a drop in revenue because of residents traveling to neighboring states to gamble. Soon after that, the number of casinos increased to 5, another was opened more recently in 2017.

Follow this link to find out more about the legal gambling age in MD for casinos legalgamblingage.com

Famously, the gambling laws in Maryland used to be very loosely defined, which was demonstrated by two absurd examples when both a vending machine and a pinball machine were labeled as gambling devices. In the case of the pinball machine, this was because it gave out free plays, these free plays could not be redeemed for any monetary amount.

Luckily, that time in Maryland has now passed and now the state is far more gambler friendly.

Maryland is quite unique compared to most other US states, as it does not differentiate between players in illegal gambling venues and the owners/operators of these venues. Their penalties are also strict compared with other states, fines range from $200 to $1000 and prison sentences from 6 to 12 months if you violate any law within 12-102. Betting, wagering, and gambling.

The Lottery and Gaming Commission must approve any game before it can be considered legal. If you arent the most experienced of gamblers and would like to know more about what you should know when gambling, then check out this guide for new casino players.

Casino Games: Residents have 5 casino options, each offering a variety of table games and slots.

Given it is a relatively new trend in the gambling world, online gambling in Maryland doesnt have any direct laws addressing it, but it is illegal for any online casinos to operate there. As you will find with many US states, the legislators have simply not yet had the opportunity to overlook this new trend that has grown at such a rapid rate.

Technically, when you read the gambling laws for Maryland and how it is worded, when playing online casino games from a mobile device, this could be perceived as illegal. Gambling with underage children, underage gambling, and problem gambling are all issues the government wants to address in its gambling framework.

Online poker is the same as above, so it could be seen as a risk to play online whilst in Maryland, but we must point out that no one up until this point has been charged or prosecuted for playing casino games online. Its also worth mentioning that the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission has recently approved partnerships between sportsbooks and casinos, so a legal framework is on its way.

Maryland is the neighbor to two of the US three fully gambling-regulated states, so there is certainly faith that it can be another in the future, if not the next. It is safe to say that Maryland seems to be watching to see what other states decide to do about online gambling as well as the many other forms of gambling that are available today. The gambling laws in the United States are changing drastically all the time and there is plenty more to come, so if you are a gambler then try to keep up with all the latest casino and gambling news.

Automated Betting Robots Transforming the World of Gambling – Tech Gaming Report

Posted: at 10:43 am

The betting industry has evolved significantly in recent years. The transformation continues to transcend beyond our wildest dreams. We are witnessing the shift of casinos to the digital realm, the creation of amazing high-tech games. As technology improves, we continue to observe huge changes in the gaming and betting sector. It all began with the move to the internet, and now we have automated betting robots.

However, before we look at why we might be seeing automated betting in the bestcasinos online in Poland, let us first demystify automated betting robots.

Automated Betting Bots 101?

Automated trading robots are sophisticated algorithms that allow for hands-free trading. This software analyzes the betting market and places bets on your behalf after it is installed. Youll never lose a wager.

A betting bot has the potential to generate high profits while also saving time. You also escape the excruciatingly painful procedure of manually putting or terminating bets. In short, the computerized system does everything for you.

Even though the software performs executions on your behalf, a little human intervention does some good. Similarly, someone utilizing a Bitcoin Code trading program must learn the principles of cryptocurrency trading; you must investigate available odds and market patterns to reduce the danger of losing money over the platform.

You install the software on your Internet-enabled gadget after selecting reliable automation betting software. The settings that the algorithm will employ when scanning the markets for profitable betting possibilities are then set.

Automated Betting Bots for Online Casino Games: Is it Possible?

The large-scale industrial success of chatbots has inspired numerous developers in the gaming sector. The aim is to create more powerful and smarter bots using the newly fangled power of AI technology Thus the advent of betting bots.

Automated betting botsfunction under the same premise: they are here to do the betting for you. And contrary to popular belief, these betting robots are not configured for only sports betting, you can also use them in luck-based casino games like slots and roulette.

People dont usually have all day and all night to sit in front of a computer screen just so they can maximize their wins explaining the prevalent success of automated betting robots. What happens is, developers will utilize a companys API to come up with highly innovative types of gameplay that are based on standards applied in gambling favorites like slot machines.

As mentioned earlier, automated betting bots identify various patterns in online casino games like slots and use this information to calculate and make the right decisions. This massive computation power, at times, can predict the outcomes of every available result per spin.

Plus, there are very few limitations attached to using betting bots. They arent affected by fatigue and dont need to take breaks (unless you command them to do so). They can also play on multiple websites concurrently, increasing the average amount of money you can win daily.

All in all, staunch fans of some online casino games appreciate the capability of automated betting robots to make informed gambling decisions for them.

Final Thought

Consider using this program to your advantage when making judgments. They have characteristics that work in the same way as forex or crypto trading automation bots do. To avoid losing money, be wary of fraudsters that sell unscrupulous automated betting bot accounts. Betting bots that are automated could be the next big thing.

Infuriatingly humble organizer. Entrepreneur. Zombie guru. Professional creator. Future teen idol.
