WARNING: The following contains spoilers for He-Man and the Masters of the Multiverse #4, from Tim Seeley, Tom Derenick, Matt Yackey and Saida Temofonte, on sale now.
In a Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse-esque tale, He-Man and the Masters of the Multiverse has thrown the classic cartoon He-Man into a unique alliance with the cinematic He-Man who Dolph Lundgren portrayed in the '80s. They're joined by the key to saving all reality: Keldor from the Anti-Eternia Universe where he's not destined to become the evil Skeletor.
However, the Anti-He-Man is proving to be seriously dangerous in his attempts to reach the Prime Source and reshape reality. He's been killing He-Men from various worlds. In He-Man and the Masters of the Multiverse #4, he arrives on the cartoon world that has sparked so many He-Man and Skeletor memes for years, and we discover this franchise has its own Anti-Life Equation.

In DC lore, the Anti-Life Equation is a formula that the cosmic villain Darkseid wants to use to enslave the Multiverse. It gives him total command over anyone who hears it, and it's been a cornerstone of Darkseid's plans in comics, movies, and cartoons. As its role in Final Crisis proved, it's one of the worst weapons any superhero could attempt to go up against, but He-Man's answer to it is much worse.
It's an orb called the Star Seed, and it was formed from the leftover energies of creation. These residual energies gave birth to various universes so when the orb formed and became the key to this Multiverse. The Anti-He-Man finds the Star Seed hidden in Castle Grayskull, but the movie He-Man battles him to attain control. Here, we see its corrupting power as it infects the movie He-Man, turning him into a bloodthirsty slave of the Anti-He-Man, who it responds to most as he's been absorbing Grayskull's power across many worlds.

Even when the cartoon Skeletor -- as he's been reluctantly brought in for backup --grabs hold of it, the Anti-Truth consumes him and begins enslaving him. As Skeletor throws the Star Seed away and tries to wrest back control of his mind, Anti-He-Man leaps into action. However, this is all part of Keldor's plan, since he knew his evil counterpart would betray them like this. As the orb is let loose, cartoon He-Man uses his Sword of Power to shatter it at a great price.
The explosion destroys the Cosmic Key that the cinematic-Man had, and it also lodges cartoon He-Man's sword in the Anti-He-Man as he escapes. Anti-He-Man departs with his dark sword, which ironically turns out to be way more beneficial for his quest. But now that Anti-He-Man has gone to the first Eternia, he's a step closer to the Prime Source, which could make him even more dangerous.

I'm a former Chemical Engineer. It was boring so I decided to write about things I love. On the geek side of things, I write about comics, cartoons, video games, television, movies and basically, all things nerdy. I also write about music in terms of punk, indie, hardcore and emo because well, they rock! If you're bored by now, then you also don't want to hear that I write for ESPN on the PR side of things. And yes, I've written sports for them too! Not bad for someone from the Caribbean, eh? To top all this off, I've scribed short films and documentaries, conceptualizing stories and scripts from a human interest and social justice perspective. Business-wise, I make big cheddar (not really) as a copywriter and digital strategist working with some of the top brands in the Latin America region. In closing, let me remind you that the geek shall inherit the Earth. Oh, FYI, I'd love to write the Gargoyles movie for Disney. YOLO.
