Construction of Inner Harbour pump station and pipes expected in Q4 – Macau Daily Times
Posted: at 2:31 am
The construction of a rainwater pump station and related drainage system is expected to start during the fourth quarter of 2022, the Public Works Bureau (DSOP) recently announced.
The project is operated in the hopes of combating regular flooding in the area. Due to its low-lying geographical nature, the Inner Harbour District inevitably becomes a water collection site in the event of heavy rain.
To achieve this, the DSOP hopes that the construction of underground rainwater vaults, pumps and upgraded drainage pipes will help handle rainwater that cannot be discharged to the sea because of geographical challenges.
Officially known as the Inner Harbour Rainwater Pump Station and Drainage Project Phase 1, the tender for the development work is opening for bids.
Expecting construction to commence before the end of this year, the DSOP has set the maximum delivery period at 510 working days.
In the hopes of ending or easing regular flooding in the District, the government has compiled plans to build similar facilities along the western coast of the Macau Peninsula. The first, second and the third phases of the project will focus on Rua do Dr. Lourenco Pereira Marques, Rua das Lorchas and Rua do Almirante Sergio, in no particular order.

Automation. Robotics. The pivot to contactless engagements. In foodservice, after the disruption of the last two years, and now with prices on the rise and labor challenged, leaning in to these seems to make senseuntil remembering that foodservice is part of the hospitality industry.
The cornerstone of hospitality is the warm, friendly interaction between people that results in a pleasant experience. In the case of foodservice, that interaction is between staff and patrons and is generally labeled as customer service. Its something operators and consumers have embraced for decades upon decades. At least until 2020, that is, when the foodservice industry came to screeching halt and human contact was taboo.
This pause in business as usual turned hospitality on its head. In a quest to find a profitable path forward, many operators began reducing and nearly eliminating staff and, as a matter of course, that human touch. Consumers began embracing the speed and efficiency of meal delivery and take out and the near risk-free dining experiences they offer.
Though born out of necessity, the big question now is whether or not this Jetson-like world can, will or should last. Georgia-Pacifics GP PRO sought answers by conducting proprietary research among consumers and foodservice workers. The responses provide compelling learnings for operators looking to not only survive the pandemic but to evolve and pivot in order to succeed.
Find the Sweet Spot
Every person has a different appreciation for and acceptance of technology, and it comes as no surprise that age is a defining factor. GP PROs research found that the majority (53 percent) of the Silent Generation and nearly half (48 percent) of Baby Boomers welcome some attention when dining out by way of engaging but non-disruptive customer service; and roughly one-third of Gen Xers (31 percent), Millennials (32 percent) and Gen Zers (31 percent) prefer to engage with staff only as needed. Only slightly fewer Gen Zers (27 percent) consider themselves DIY diners who want a completely self-service dining experience from start to finish.
Across all age demographics combined, 34 percent of diners welcome staff attention, 25 percent want someone available if needed, 22 percent appreciate small talk with staff, 11 percent want complete independence, and 8 percent seek engaging conversation with staff.
Invest Where it Matters to Consumers
Its pretty rare for operators to actually seek insights from consumers on where investments are needed to improve the establishments overall business. Some might argue that these insights arent needed because the answer lies in technology. Theres certainly some truth in that. But what kind of technology in particular? Margins are thin, perhaps more so now than ever before, so giving consumers a voice and then investing in what they see as most important is critical to helping secure repeat business, build loyalty, and secure brand advocacy.
When asked to pick two areas of investment for operators to focus on, 42 percent of consumers said order accuracy, 36 percent said speed of service, and 29 percent said face-to-face customer service. Only 10 percent of consumers want to see operators invest in app development for mobile ordering, and just 6 percent in automation to minimize contact with employees.
Invest Where it Matters to Employees
Its been said repeatedly that the last two years have been among the most trying two years ever for the foodservice industry. Closure mandates, mask mandates, supply chain issues, inflation, food shortages, and the list goes on. Emotions are up, and revenue is down.
But dont forget that foodservice workers have been on this rollercoaster, too. Most lost their jobs through no fault of their own for at least some part of the pandemic. Many couldnt return when the opportunity presented itself, others wouldnt, and some came back only to leave soon after.
Its easy to point the finger at what some might call fickle hourly employees. But GP PROs research shows that foodservice workers who were employed for some or all of the past two years believe there is a way throughvia higher wages (62 percent), stronger leadership (42 percent), and being valued by management (40 percent). Even without those investments, 83 percent of foodservice workers said they are very or somewhat likely to continue working in the industry. Why? For more than half of them (56 percent, they enjoy interacting with customers.
Cindy Egnarski owns a Figaro Pizza and Cousins Subs in Pulaski, Wisconsin. With 18 years of experience in the foodservice industry, she believes these research findings are on the mark. The best part of working in foodservice is creating a great experience for my staff and my customers, and great experiences are generally built on human relations. Automation that empowers that kind of interaction and that enhances the experience for staff and patrons is the kind of automation I find most valuable.
Human connection. Hospitality. Technology. If the research is any indicator, the delicate balance may just lie in automation that improves operational efficiency and supports an enhanced experience for consumers and staff alike.
Alec Frisch is vice president and general manager of Foodservice with GP PRO, a division of Georgia-Pacific. GP PRO and its Dixie brand solutions are helping operators innovate and build business with touchless dispensing systems and foodservice disposables that empower productivity and hygiene. Automation in the Age of IT-OT ConvergenceCompanies are constantly looking for better ways to augment their existing operational workloads, optimize production processes, and reduce overall Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions. The use of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) has helped enterprises better control their operations by monitoring valuable assets, reducing repetitive and routine tasks, and enhancing quality control. However, IT and OT have been traditionally developed separately with no ability to exploit operations and production data to make more informed decisions for more optimized workflow and well-planned production and maintenance processes.
The emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) in recent years blurs the boundaries between the two systems, leading to a more convergent solution. IoT devices belonging to the IT domain can collect operational and production data from the field and communicate them to the OT systems.
The convergence of IT and OT will allow workers to do more and go further with their improvements, striking the right balance between the cost of business and strategic technology investment. Furthermore, this convergence will enable enterprises to accelerate their digital transformation and optimize their existing workflows, all without needing to scale up rapidly.
Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) have proven ideal for executing the data processing based on Machine Learning (ML) algorithms, allowing robots to perform object recognition and sensor fusion. Further advances have come from developing Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) that excel in specific ML applications, such as video processing and speech recognition.
Robotics AutomationOne of the technologies that best represent IT-OT convergence is operations management through robotics automation. With automated processes, companies can analyze data, obtain valuable insights, and gain improved visibility of their production sites performance, helping them make data-driven decisions. However, robotics development has traditionally been very complex and challenging. As demand for robots is expected to increase rapidly, the current rate of innovation can be accelerated with the proper hardware and software offerings.
The Rise of RoboticsIn general, the deployment of robots has led these devices to host new functions aiming to increase workforce safety, reduce strenuous and hazardous tasks for human employees, accelerate e-commerce fulfillment and delivery, and enhance business flexibility and resilience. These new functions require the implementation of high-accuracy sensors that fulfill functional safety and risk prevention requirements, cameras for detection, localization, and navigation, and robotics middleware for application onboarding. In recent years, key advancements in robotics hardware allow robotics Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to develop robots that can see and sense their environments:
At the same time, advancements in software and services also deserve much attention:
Through these key advancements, robots can now work alongside a human safely and reliably. Apart from industrial robotics arms, more form factors have emerged in recent years, such as Collaborative Robots (cobots), AGVs, AMRs, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
A common denominator across all these robots is their ability to perceive and make sense of their surrounding environment. This autonomy is enabled through several ML models found in the robots, such as object detection and segmentation, localization and collision avoidance, motion planning for navigation and manipulation, pose estimation, and sensor integration.
Edge ML enables robotics users to make sense of the mountain of data they collect from their assets and make much better business decisions based on daily operation, usage trends, and customer behaviors.
Edge ML in RoboticsRobotics OEMs have embedded edge ML into their robots to help with performing critical functions, including sensor processing, odometry, localization and mapping, vision and perception, and path planning. These ML models hosted inside robots automatically process data collected by the robots and generate an output that dictates the robots actions. Edge ML holds several key advantages over its cloud counterpart:
Edge ML enables robotics users to make sense of the mountain of data they collect from their assets and make much better business decisions based on daily operation, usage trends, and customer behaviors. To achieve seamless edge ML deployment, robotics OEMs require the right type of processors to resolve concerns around data privacy, power efficiency, and low latency, while providing strong on-device computing performance. In addition, OEMs rely on edge ML software support from these processor suppliers to accelerate edge ML deployment. A comprehensive edge ML solution from established vendors can reduce complexity, and accelerate edge ML design and operations, while also providing workload orchestration, training and testing simulation, and model retraining support.
That said, edge ML deployment in robots remains complex. Higher computational capability alone is not sufficient. Companies need pre-trained models, application development and optimization, and ML applications for more hands-on end users.
Tools and Services Speeding Robotics DevelopmentAdvanced industrial robotics are packed with multiple features capable of executing a number of mission-critical functions. The execution and the orchestration of these functions require highly sophisticated, densified, and scalable processing solutions that can process multiple concurrent applications, workloads, and AI inference pipelines without the constant reliance on cloud computing resources. These solutions should also support high-speed interfaces to handle the multiple sensors featured in modern industrial robots.
NVIDIA is one of the key processor platform suppliers to dedicate particular attention to this area. At GTC 2022, NVIDIA launched the Jetson AGX Orin developer kit and System-on-Module (SOM) based on the Ampere GPU architecture with up to 2,048 parallel CUDA cores, up to 64 Tensor Cores, and up to 2 Deep Learning Accelerator (DLA) engines. This solution is designed to handle the ever-increasing workload and multi-concurrency demands by enabling up to 275 Tera Operations per Second (TOPS) of processing power, 8X higher than Jetson AGX Xavier, its predecessor.
To accelerate time-to-market, NVIDIA also offers Isaac Nova Orin, which features two Jetson AGX Orin SOMs that provide up to 550 TOPS of AI compute, and a sensor suite consisting of up to six cameras, three LiDAR sensors, and eight ultrasonic sensors. This provides a reference design for companies that want their robots to leverage the full capabilities of Jetson AGX Orin.
That said, edge ML deployment in robots remains complex. Higher computational capability alone is not sufficient. Companies need pre-trained models, application development and optimization, and ML applications for more hands-on end users. First launched in 2018, NVIDIA Isaac was designed to support robotics development through an application framework, software packages with ML algorithms, an upgraded robotics simulation platform, and various reference designs. In September 2021, NVIDIA and Open Robotics, the developer of ROS, entered into an agreement enabling interoperability between Open Robotics Ignition Gazebo and NVIDIA Isaac Sim. In addition, for developers that look at existing models to simplify their model development process, the NVIDIA TAO Transfer Learning Toolkit makes it easier for them to further adapt pre-trained ML models by NVIDIA for specific use cases.
With the software support from NVIDIA, robotics OEMs and end users train and optimize robots for a breadth of tasks virtually. Isaac Sim provides a realistic environment to train navigation and manipulation models. In the cases where real-world data are rare and hard to obtain, accurate data can be augmented with synthetic data to reduce the time for model training. Companies operating a large fleet of AMRs at production sites can use the NVIDIA DeepMap platforms cloud-based Software Development Kit (SDK) to speed robot mapping of extensive facilities from weeks to days, NVIDIA cuOpt Application Programming Interface (API) to enable near real-time routing optimizations, and NVIDIA Metropolis platform to integrate off-the-shelf video cameras and sensors with AI-enabled video analytics.
In addition, NVIDIA has built a growing ecosystem that possesses domain expertise in building robots with the Jetson platform. This includes 105 companies specializing in AI software, hardware and application design services, sensors and peripherals, developer tools, development systems, and more, providing complementary and value-added solutions and services. Leading partners include SICK, LIPS, FRAMOS, Universal Robots, and e-con Systems. Through this ecosystem, robotics OEMs and end users can expect end-to-end, integrated, and tailored experiences based on a deep understanding of their needs.
The intralogistics market for mobile robots is expected to grow from US$9 billion in 2022 to top US$36 billion by 2030. Both AGVs and AMRs are deployed in brownfield and greenfield warehouses for material handling.
Commercial Opportunities AboundWhile still heavily centralized in the industry, technological innovations across hardware, software, and business models accelerate robotic deployment across all major market verticals. As a result, the intralogistics market for mobile robots is expected to grow from US$9 billion in 2022 to top US$36 billion by 2030. Both AGVs and AMRs are deployed in brownfield and greenfield warehouses for material handling.
Now, AMRs and forklifts are used for material handling and mobile manipulation in manufacturing, which is expected to go from US$2.3 billion in 2022 to US$36.4 billion by 2030. Moving forward, AMRs and quadruped robots are expected to become more prominent in delivery, data collection, security, and cleaning. The last-mile delivery and retail robotics market are expected to grow from less than US$1 billion and US$1.3 billion in 2022 to US$16.2 billion and US$8.4 billion by 2030, respectively.
Robotics and MLAs companies continue to digitalize and automate their current workflows, they should not overlook the importance of robotics and ML-based automation. The emergence of a data-driven business environment, edge ML technologies, dedicated robotics development platform, and robust partner ecosystem is creating new opportunities for accepting and adopting robots across various markets.
Undoubtedly, current and immediate robotics adoption is heavily weighted toward larger companies. Still, emerging technologies present an opportunity for robotics providers to successfully lower the adoption barrier for small and medium businesses. A comprehensive hardware and software solution, like the one offered by NVIDIA, makes these technologies more accessible to both robotics OEMs and end users. Furthermore, partnering with an experienced company with a suitable robotics ecosystem, i.e., from the edge ML chipset layer to the software and applications layer, allows robotics OEMs to focus on perfecting their hardware design and expanding their market presence.

Japan inflation hits seven-year high – Macau Business
Posted: at 2:31 am
Japans core consumer prices posted their biggest jump in seven years in April, official data showed Friday, as global commodity prices soared and the yen slumped against the dollar.
The core consumer price index, which excludes fresh food, jumped 2.1 percent year-on-year, according to figures released by the internal affairs ministry.
It was the first time since March 2015 that the figure has breached the 2.0 percent set by the Bank of Japan as its long-term inflation target.
The reading, against market expectations of 2.0 percent, follows a 0.8 percent rise in March, which was already the fastest increase in more than two years as oil prices soared.
And excluding energy, prices were up 0.8 percent in April, against market expectations of a 0.7 percent rise.
That was the first positive figure since July 2020, underpinning the impact of skyrocketing energy costs which have been magnified by higher import prices.
After years of price stagnation, some manufacturers and stores in Japan who rely on imported resources have begun to raise prices.
Last month, the Bank of Japan hiked its full-year inflation forecast but cautioned that it sees rising prices, driven by a surge in commodity costs partly caused by the Ukraine war, as a temporary and volatile trend.
Despite climbing prices and a slump in the yen to a 20-year low against the dollar, the Bank left its ultra-loose monetary policy unchanged.
The bank argues that the price rises are not likely to last and therefore do not mean its inflation target has been achieved.

US midterms and the strange demise of the political center – Macau Business

A giant Donald Trump mural on the front lawn. An anti-Biden rap video. A TV ad featuring an assault rifle and a vow to do whatever it takes to restore America to its former glory.
It isnt campaigning as Lincoln or Kennedy knew it, but it worked for midwestern underdog candidate J.R. Majewski, and analysts worry it could be a glimpse of future US primary election seasons in a country that is losing its moderate political center.
Establishment Republicans in Majewskis northwest Ohio swing district where he is vying to win a US House seat in Novembers midterm elections spent six-figure sums trying to get more moderate rivals nominated.
But the Trump-backed air force veteran and conspiracy theorist won anyway, seeing off more favored state lawmakers after being endorsed by Paul Gosar, a far-right congressman.
In South Carolina, another Trump-endorsed hopeful, Katie Arrington, has called for disbanding the US Department of Education, President Joe Bidens impeachment and the arrest of government Covid-19 advisor Anthony Fauci.
She is challenging first-term Republican congresswoman Nancy Mace, who is out of favor with Trump after blaming him for the 2021 US Capitol assault.
The races are early fronts in a battle already playing out in Republican and Democratic primary contests across America, as establishment politicians find their hopes of representing their parties in the midterms threatened by more extreme challengers.
In Pennsylvania, state senator and election denier Doug Mastriano, who helped Trump try to overturn the states 2020 results that favored Biden, swatted away several less controversial Republicans Tuesday to win the partys nomination for governor.
But Trump, whose status as political kingmaker is being tested, also experienced setbacks Tuesday including in Idaho, where his favorite gubernatorial candidate Janice McGeachin, who reportedly said this month that Christ will reign in the state, lost to the incumbent.
In coming weeks Republican moderates, pragmatists and compromisers will face Trump-backed culture warriors in several races, in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, South Carolina and Washington.
Across the aisle, Pennsylvania state congresswoman and community organizer Summer Lee, who identifies as a Democratic Socialist, was narrowly leading the field after Tuesdays primary to replace retiring moderate Mike Doyle.
She is backed by Justice Democrats, the group that sponsoredleftist New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortezsfirst campaign and is sending a new generation of leftist legislators to Washington.
Ocasio-Cortez is the most prominent member of the so-called Squad a group of staunchly progressive Democrats poised for gains in seats and influence in November despite the partys likely loss of the House of Representatives.
As many as six Squad-aligned candidates have realistic chances of winning House seats this cycle, against more middle-of-the-road Democrats.
The numbers sound small, but lawmakers on the fringes tend to have outsized influence on political discourse because they make all the noise and attract attention.
The Common Ground Committee, which campaigns to reduce incivility in politics, says it observed a coarsening of public discourse following 2008s global financial meltdown.
There seems to be an increasing level of vitriol generated by a winner-take-all attitude in Congress that actively discourages working with those across the aisle and is exacerbated by the highly polarized cable news media, co-founder Bruce Bond told AFP.
Many things have come together to encourage polarization and people need to stop supporting it.
A Pew Research Center analysis found Democrats and Republicans are further apart today than at any time in the past 50 years.
In 1972, 144 House Republicans were less conservative than the most conservative Democrat, and 52 House Democrats were less liberal than the most liberal Republican, according to the analysis.
But that common ground began to shrink, and since 2002, there has beennooverlap at all. In the Senate, that overlap ended in 2004.
The polarization has changed American public opinion from a bell-shaped curve where most voters and the parties were in the center to a bimodal curve with the center of the two parties drifting apart and ideologically purifying, political scientist David Schultz told AFP.
The professor, who teaches at Minnesota liberal arts college Hamline University, believes economic restructuring, race, social issues and technology are driving the diversification with Trump merely the personification of trends already occurring.
Progressive political consultant Zee Cohen-Sanchez blames the cash that has flooded politics in recent years, incentivizing candidates to carve out controversial positions that gain attention and funding.
Because our elections have become astronomically expensive, people seek to make fast money rather than raising money from everyday Americans, Cohen-Sanchez said.
Thats where things get dangerous.

UK hits Russian airlines with fresh sanctions – Macau Business

The UK government said on Thursday it is slapping further sanctions on Russias main airlines by barring them from selling landing slots they are already banned from using.
State-owned Aeroflot, Russias largest airline, Ural Airlines and Rossiya Airlines will now be unable to sell their unused, lucrative landing slots at UK airports, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The move will prevent Russia from cashing in on anestimated 50 million (59 million euros, $62 million), it added.
The UK has already banned Russian aircraft and vessels, and sanctioned more than 1,000 Russian individuals and 100 entities, since President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine in late February.
As long as Putin continues his barbarous assault on Ukraine, we will continue to target the Russian economy, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said.
International sanctions against Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine mean that Russia is heading for the deepest recession since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the statement said.

Although 84% Of U.S. Adults Regularly Worry About Their Finances,
Fewer Than Half Have Had Money Management Education
Moomoo commissioned an April 2022 survey of more than 1,000 adults across the United States and found the majority of respondents have two things in common: they worry about their finances frequently and have never received a formal education around how to manage their money.
Findings show that 84% of U.S. adults worry about their finances on a regular basis, with nearly half (42%) "often" concerned about their money management. Yet, despite money management worries being so prevalent, roughly three out of five people surveyed (or 59%) have never received a formal education about how to manage their finances.
Of those who did have educational experience in financial topics, the majority (73%) received that instruction through a class at schoolalthough only half of that group had a class specifically dedicated to money or financial management. Some supplemented their financial education with training through their job (4.0%) or through a webinar or course provided by a company or financial institution (7.0%).
By using aggregate data gathered through this survey, moomoo was able to profile the "Average Investor" as someone who
The Grades Are In:
Financial Literacy Report Cards & Investment Quiz Results
When participants in the above survey were asked to assign a grade to their own financial expertise, most investors felt they were somewhere in the middle of the pack, with the majority (38%) giving themselves a 'C' grade. Only 10% awarded themselves an 'A' gradea group that still outweighed the mere 4% that graded themselves most harshly, with an 'F' failing grade.
Along income lines, respondents from households with an income of $250,000 or higher were more likely than other groups to give themselves an 'A' grade29% gave themselves the highest financial literacy grade, nearly triple the percentage of the average population. Additionally, only 20% of these high-earners graded their financial literacy with a 'C', showing higher-than-average confidence in their financial acumen.
Results along gender lines also showed interesting trendswith female investors awarding themselves fewer 'A's and 'B's than their male counterparts, while accounting for more of the self-assigned 'C', 'D' and 'F' grades.
Despite the average investor assigning themselves middling grades, the moomoo community proved they were willing and enthusiastic to put themselves to the test!
Moomoo designed a short, 10-question quiz designed to challenge users' knowledge of investments, stock trading and financial literacy. Those who answered all questions correctly were then entered for the chance to win a free share of APPL stock from the prize pool.
As of April 30, the last day the quiz was available, nearly 10,000 moomoo users successfully completed the quiz, with more than 13,000 users participating in some capacity. Additionally, more than 1,600 users then took the initiative to further their financial acumen by accessing moomoo's educational courses and related content pages.

ARF States That White-Labelling Is a Major Problem to the Gambling Industry – GamblingNews.com
Posted: at 2:28 am
The Asian Racing Federation has expressed its concerns over white-labeling services as the federation states that they make it hard to differentiate between legal and illegal gambling sites. The State of Illegal Betting Report, an analysis by the ARF, claims that the public has particular problems in distinguishing between legal and illegal sites.
Back in 2020, UKs gambling regulator, the Gambling Commission, noted that there are around 700 white-label partners in the gambling industry. The commission added that this model was becoming popular as it helps operators to bring global exposure to their products.
White-labelling is the process of provisioning a part of the operations of a certain online sportsbook. These operations, which include the license in most cases, are then branded and distributed by a separate website. In some cases, through white-labeling, an entire sportsbook can be provisioned and distributed by a different brand.
There are several advantages that websites experience from white-labeling solutions, one of which is the lower cost needed to set up the business. As the Asian Gaming Brief states, thanks to white-labeling, adverts direct players to mirror websites in Asia, and the sole purpose of these arrangements is to promote illegal betting.
Dr. Sally Gainsbury, an ARF council member, stated that customers are more exposed to gambling harm if they wager at offshore sites, rather than domestic sites that are regulated. This shows that offshore sites present a problem as they are breaking the law by not holding an onshore license.
According to the ARF, online gambling platforms that are licensed by one jurisdiction and accept wagers outside of that jurisdiction are not legal. A report found that out of 534 online casinos and online sportsbooks in 61 jurisdictions, less than 40% are actually licensed and regulated.
In the 94-page report, the ARF outlines the fact that a majority of the operators are taking advantage of the so-called grey markets that operate from Brisbane and Beirut. Sites are classified into three categories; the first category includes licensed and regulated operators, the second category includes licensed, but under-regulated operators and the third category features sites that do not possess a license at all.
Moreover, the report found that two-thirds of the sites that operate in other jurisdictions illegally come from Curacao, Malta, and the Philippines. Finally, it outlined the fact that casino junkets helped fuel the rise of illegal gambling in Asia. Junkets have proven to be quite problematic, especially in Macau, which is why they wont be able to accept deposits anymore.
Illegal websites are a major problem to players as they are unable to determine which sites are licensed and regulated and which are not. A 2020 report in Sweden found out that only 5% of the customers know how to check the credibility of a gambling operator.
The USA is also facing a similar problem, which is why the American Gaming Association urged the DoJ to crack down on illegal offshore gambling sites. In a letter sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland, AGA stated that it believes that the DoJ is the only entity that can deal with this issue in a proper manner.
