Fox Star Studios, Illuminati Films join for 'Finding Fanny'

New Delhi, Nov 14 (IANS): Homi Adajani's quirky comedy, starring Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor, will be co-presented by production and distribution house Fox Star Studios with Dinesh Vijan and Saif Ali Khan's Illuminati Films.

Set in Goa, "Finding Fanny" is a bilingual film about a man's search for his childhood love, Stefanie (Fanny) Fernandes, and how a group of dysfunctional characters go on a road trip with him to find her.

Producer Dinesh Vijan is excited about the way the film is shaping up.

"Homi has a talent for cinematic storytelling, giving us diverse stories - be it a 'Being Cyrus' or 'Cocktail' and now we have a gem of a film in 'Finding Fanny'. We are proud to add this wonderful, warm, quirky story to our stable. We are looking forward to partnering with Fox Star Studios, and hope to reach out to a wide audience globally," Vijan said in a statement.

For Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, the movie is a "very important addition to our exciting line-up for 2014.

"We believe in Homi's cinema and its ability to connect universally. We were blown away by the script and the film has lined up some of India's most exciting talent. We are committed to releasing it across the globe," he added.

The lead actors are backed by cinema stalwarts Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia and Pankaj Kapur.

For the director, "Finding Fanny" is a special project.

"I was offered some big 'Cocktail' type films after the success of it, but I really wanted to work on my own material and not just direct something for money," he said.

He has golden words of praise for all his actors.

Man accidentally discharges gun during second amendment discussion, shoots printer

WILKESBORO, N.C. A man accidentally discharged his gun inside a Wilkesboro GNC store during a discussion about the second amendment, striking a printer, according to police.

According to a Wilkesboro Police Dept. incident report, officers responded to the GNC store on Winkler Street around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

A witness told police he was speaking to a customer and they were discussing second amendment rights and guns around 6:50 p.m.The customer then pulled out his handgun and accidentally fired a shot, striking a printer, the witness said.

The customer then reportedly told the worker he could not go down for this.

The customer was described as a white male, younger than 28-years-old, brown hair, brown eyes, 58 and around 170 pounds. He left the store in an early 2000s model dark colored Honda Civic.

No injuries were reported.
