Paid Their Dues: Chandler Hoffman!

Chandler Hoffman made his first professional start in over a year, as he laced up for the LA Galaxy in CONCACAF Champions' League action. Hoffman went the full 90 minutes as his team defeated Isidro Metapan by a score of 1-0 in Carson.
Former Union wingers Justin Mapp and Shea Salinas went head-to-head in CCL play last week (sort of). Mapp was subbed out in the 74th minute, just as Salinas came in. He would go on to score a goal ten minutes later as the Earthquakes trampled the Impact 3-0. In MLS play, Mapp's team was defeated 3-0 once again, this time by the Whitecaps. Salinas assisted on Lenhart's winner in the 21st minute, before he was subbed out in the 74th minute. As I'm writing this article, Shea Salinas' Twitter follower count is up to 3047. Take out the three and the zero, rearrange the remaining numbers and SEVENTY-FOUR. The field at Buck Shaw is 74 yards wide. Illuminati.
Jordan Harvey helped his Vancouver side shut out the Montreal Impact in Saputo Stadium. The 'Caps are currently four points out of a playoff spot with a game in hand.
Andrew Jacobson and FC Dallas had one job. It's really no surprise; however, that a stumbling FCD lost to the Supporters' Shield-leading New York Red Bulls in Harrison. New York made it harder than it needed to be, of course, and their sloppy play was excused by an Erick own goal. The Sounders have two games in hand on the Red Bulls, so the odds that they remain cupless are still pretty good.
Gabriel Farfan couldn't even make the bench for a Chivas squad that lost to Houston by a tally of 5-1. It's safe to assume that Farfan isn't loving his new squad.
Toni Sthl's Ft. Lauderdale Strikers were defeated by the Cosmos 2-0 in the Sunshine State. The loss bumps the Strikers down to 5th place.
Michael Orozco and Puebla have two draws in Liga MX play under their new manager, Rubn Omar Romano. Orozco appears to be in Romano's plans, as he has started both league matches under his new gaffer. Rubn Omar Romano let someone take a casual picture of him once.

‘Illuminati’ sex schemer reaches plea deal
Posted: at 4:43 pm
Nelson Torres
ELYRIA A city man who tried to convince two teenage girls to have sexual relations with him in order to receive points they could convert to cash from the Illuminati has pleaded guilty to felony gross sexual imposition and misdemeanor sexual imposition charges.
As part of the plea agreement reached Tuesday, Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Mark Betleski told Nelson Torres, 36, that he will likely impose a sentence of probation with a maximum of 90 days in the Lorain County Jail.
But county Prosecutor Dennis Will said hed like to see a longer sentence because of Torres past conviction on misdemeanor charges for using the same lines on a woman who had sought a job at a Lorain pizzeria he managed a decade ago.
In light of his previous method thats consistent with what he used here, the Illuminati and all that, were going to argue strongly for incarceration, Will said.
A teenage girl who Torres knew told police that he propositioned her in December by telling her about a secret group they could join and earn points by performing tasks, according to court documents filed by prosecutors in the case.
Torres told the girl that it wasnt illegal, but that she would have to go out of her comfort zone in order to get points, which would lead to them getting more money.
When the girl agreed later in the day, he took her into a bedroom and pretended to be on the phone with the Illuminati, whom he said were watching through hidden cameras, Assistant County Prosecutor Chris Pierre wrote in court documents.
After asking the girl a few questions, Torres told her to remove her clothes, Pierre wrote. Torres then began to touch her and the girl asked if he was going to rape her. She then told him that she didnt want to continue and left.
As she was leaving, Torres told her that they wouldnt get any money and asked if she planned to report what happened.

Perhaps some fed-up future generation will vote to repeal the Second Amendment (Your view)
Posted: at 4:40 pm
On all gun safety issues the "second amendment" people refuse to give an inch while the gun safety people try to get minor concessions. Wrong question. The question that should be asked is: Should we repeal the Second Amendment? Not a single candidate or current office holder is asking this question, so I will.
The Second Amendment was added to the Constitution in 1791, 222 years ago. At that time, the arms people had the right to bear were either a flintlock musket or a flintlock pistol that took forever to re-load. Today an "arm" can be a 100 shot semi-automatic rifle that can reload in seconds with kits available to convert it into a machine gun.
Why not repeal this outmoded amendment now? We can replace it with an amendment that makes sense in the twenty-first century. We don't have to ban guns, just set sane regulations, without the confused wording of the Second Amendment. Repealing an amendment isn't easy but we repealed the eighteenth amendment.
What's the chance of that happening with the Second Amendment?
Somewhere between slim and none. Most Americans love the Second Amendment. What will it take to change this? People seem willing to accept mass shootings to preserve the amendment. This mentality seems impossible to change.
Do we have to wait for the next few generations to die off before this stupidity ends?

Free Speech rights tested on UW-La Crosse campus
Posted: at 4:40 pm
LA CROSSE, WI -
There was a shouting match on the UW-La Crosse campus Tuesday as people used their right to free speech.
Dozens of students were not happy to hear the message from a group of people at the clock tower, which is the central point of campus. Members of the group called themselves born again Christians preaching to help people find God.
The students say the group was being intolerant and singling people out for things like religion and sexual orientation.
"God said to go into all the world and preach the Gospel, so we go into all the world, whether it be sporting events, in our little hometown, at campuses, doesn't matter what it is, where there's people, there's people that need Jesus," said born again Christian Ryan Woodhouse.
"The amount of intolerance is just clearly unacceptable to everybody at UW-L, it doesn't represent what we believe in as a campus," said UW-L Junior Cady Madson.
UW-L's Chancellor says he received a number of e-mails from students who were upset at the message being spread. However, since it's a public institution, he says the university needs to respect everyone's first amendment rights. "You know you might not like what's being said out there, but we really do need to be thankful for the fact that those people have the right to say what they want to say, because we can say what we want to say as well," said Chancellor Joe Gow.
Gow also says the only reason the University would've stepped in is if the group would've posed a danger to the students.

Cygnus arrival at space station delayed again

The first arrival of a brand-new commercial cargo ship at the International Space Station has been delayed until no earlier than Saturday to make way for a new crew launching to the orbiting lab this week, NASA officials say.
The unmanned Cygnus spacecraft built by Orbital Sciences Corp. which launched into orbit on Sept. 18 was initially expected to link up with the station on Sunday (Sept. 22), but a software glitch forced controllers to abort the arrival and wait at least 48 hours for the next attempt.
Today, NASA and Orbital officials said the supply ship will not arrive at the space station until Saturday, in part because a new station crew Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kotov and Sergey Ryazanskiy and NASA astronaut Michael Hopkins is launching to the orbiting lab Wednesday on a Russian Soyuz capsule. [See photos of Orbital Sciences' 1st Cygnus spacecraft flight]
"This new schedule will allow the Orbital operations team to carefully plan and be well-rested before restarting the critical final approach to the space station," Frank Culbertson, Orbital's executive vice president and general manager of its advanced programs group, said in a statement. "Meanwhile, Cygnus has all the resources needed to remain in orbit for an extended period of time."
Orbital's Cygnus spacecraft team has now tested software to fix the software glitch that prevented the attempted rendezvous with the space station on Sunday. Because of extra time needed for that troubleshooting, as well as the impending Soyuz launch and docking on Wednesday, the team opted to push the Cygnus arrival at the station until the weekend at earliest, company officials said.
Officials with NASA and Orbital Sciences do not have an exact timeframe for Cygnus' approach and rendezvous yet, but once Soyuz operations are complete the space agency and private firm will develop a schedule.
The now-Saturday rendezvous will mark the first time a Cygnus capsule has visited the space station. The spacecraft is designed to be captured by the astronauts using the station's robotic arm, and then attached to an open docking port. The current mission is a demonstration flight to show that Cygnus and its Antares rocket can safely haul supplies to the $100 billion outpost. Orbital Sciences holds a $1.9 billion contract with NASA to fly eight missions with Cygnus and Antares.
