Yeezyprovides more fodder for "Kanye Westis in the Illuminati" conspiracy theorists to eat up. Model Anja Rubik is premiering her new magazine, 25, and the "Can't Tell Me Nothing" rapperappears in a video salute to the issue's theme of eroticism, reports New York magazine's The Cut blog.
The video opens with a close up shot of the Chicago rapper/producer's face and he says something about "through me the everlasting pain" and abandoning all hope. The rest of the video is kaleidoscopic shots, naked chicks, close ups...and stuff.
25's first issue is features the photography of solely women, including Emma Summerton, Annie Leibovitz, Paola Kudacki and Ellen Von Unwerth. Rubik told The Cut that she discussed 25's first issue, with West, particularly how it tackled s-x. "It's funny. We talked about p0rn looks these days, and he agreed with me that there's no p0rn out there that is beautiful aesthetically and integrates fashion to make a beautiful image," said Rubik, who West name checked on "Way Too Cold." "We were on the same page about a lot of things.
"I thought it would be really interesting to make it seem like we were entering Kanye's head," added Rubik. "It's not pornographic, but it's very sensual."
The image of a pyramid near the conclusion of the video is what will have folks yapping about Yeezy repping the all seeing eye or riding pale horses. Watch the Barnaby Roper directed video below.

Freedom Fest: Event a 'hot' ticket

Patrick Johnston/Times Record News Fireworks burst over Sheppard Air Force Base during Freedom Fest's approximately 30-minute show Saturday night.

Patrick Johnston/Times Record News Airman 1st Class William Little (left) helps Brooke Wilson, 3, down a tall waterslide at Freedom Fest at Sheppard Air Force Base Saturday afternoon.
Crowds of people gathered at Freedom Fest hosted by Sheppard Air Force Base on Saturday despite the extreme heat.
The sun beat down without a cloud in the sky in the afternoon hours as Loius Lewis, the second of five bands to play at the festival, played their set.
"It's all about celebrating the Fourth of July and freedom, but it's also about the community relations and giving back to the community at large and also the base just a big celebration to bring us all together," said Lt. Col. Bart Kenerson, director of the event.
Water slides and bounce houses armed with water sprayers for children appropriately littered the festival grounds. Several families tried to stay cool by sitting under a pavilion in the shade.
SAFB has hosted the event for more than eight years, and Kenerson said it wouldn't be able to do so without community support.
"The great part about Freedom Fest is this event is really hosted by the base, but it's made (possible) by downtown. It makes me extremely proud to be a part of the community. It would take probably about 15 to 20 minutes to recognize every single person that aided or assisted (the event)," Kenerson said.
He thanked the community for all the support they provide, saying downtown organizations supplied more than $140,000 in sponsorship funds.

Freedom Center gets help through museum merger
Posted: at 10:14 am
CINCINNATI -
The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is getting help with longstanding financial problems through a merger into the Cincinnati Museum Center's corporate structure and from a $1.8 million grant.
The Museum Center's board of trustees recently approved a resolution allowing it to become the Freedom Center's parent organization with financial oversight of the national center. The merging of the organizations' operations allows cost savings intended to provide financial stability for the Freedom Center and eliminate a $1.5 million annual budget shortfall, Museum Center spokeswoman Elizabeth Pierce said Friday.
Freedom Center officials said last year that the annual shortfall could force the center to close by the end of 2012 if the money wasn't found. The Freedom Center, which opened in 2004, also said that while attendance was up slightly in 2011 over the previous year, it has declined since a 2005 peak.
Museum Center officials have said the partnership offers financial strength and new opportunities for both organizations.
The Museum Center houses a history museum, a children's museum and a natural history and science museum. The Freedom Center, which is now its fourth wholly owned subsidiary, focuses on the 19th century Underground Railroad for escaping slaves and on freedom throughout the world.
The Freedom Center's board changed its bylaws earlier this year to allow for the merged operations, which will enable reduced administrative expenses in areas including human resources and finance, Pierce said.
The Freedom Center will remain responsible for its fundraising, programming and efforts to enhance its image.
Pierce said both organizations will retain their separate brands and missions and will remain separate legal entities for the purpose of charitable gifts and revenue.
"This collaboration also gives a level of operating efficiency that will allow both organizations to better deliver their education missions," Pierce said.

With five days to practice and rest since a disappointing loss in their previous game, the New York Liberty were fired up against the Seattle Storm.
Essence Carson scored 22 points and Cappie Pondexter had 20 to lead the Liberty to a 77-59 victory over the Storm on Saturday.
''It was a big win, a much-needed win,'' Pondexter said. ''We were really striving to win. ... I think having a week off and getting our legs refreshed and our minds refocused, we were able to come out and win.''
Pondexter and Carson combined to shoot 15 for 30 from the field and 10 for 12 from the free-throw line. Pondexter also had a season-high seven rebounds and four assists.
The Liberty (5-9) hadn't played since a 10-point loss to Atlanta on Sunday, New York's fourth loss in five games.
''I'm sure she had in her mind she wanted to win today,'' Pondexter said of Carson. ''I did as well, especially coming off that last performance against Atlanta. We got back in the gym and worked on things, just prepared for today.''
DeMya Walker added 11 points for the Liberty, who lost leading rebounder Kia Vaughn to a concussion late in the second quarter. She did not return and finished with eight points and one rebound.
The Liberty were already without second-leading scorer and rebounder Plenette Pierson (strained left knee), who missed her fourth straight game and is not expected back until after the Olympic break.

Carson, Pondexter help carry Liberty past Storm
Posted: at 10:13 am
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- Essence Carson scored 22 points and Cappie Pondexter had 20 to lead the New York Liberty to a 77-59 victory over the Seattle Storm on Saturday.
DeMya Walker added 11 points for New York (5-9), who had lost four of its previous five.
Ann Wauters and Tina Thompson scored 10 points each for Seattle (6-8), which snapped a five-game winning streak. The Storm shot just 32 percent from the field (19-for-59), including 4-for-22 on three-pointers.
Sue Bird's third third-pointer of the game -- and first since about 4 minutes into the game -- capped a 7-1 run that pulled the Storm to 56-48 heading to the fourth quarter.
However, Pondexter and Kara Braxton had consecutive layups to restore the Liberty's double-digit lead, 65-52, with 6:17 to go. Seattle got no closer than 10 again.
Nicole Powell's jumper with less than 43 seconds to go closed the scoring and gave New York its largest lead of the game.
Carson had a bank shot and Pondexter made a layup in the opening minute of the third quarter to extend the Liberty's eight-point halftime lead to 35-23.
Thompson's layup cut the lead to 39-32 with 7:05 left in the period, but New York scored the next six points and Pondexter's 3 with 4 minutes to go pushed the Liberty's advantage to 50-36.
The Liberty's second 9-0 run of the game, started by Carson's two free throws with just more than a minute remaining in the first quarter and capped by Kia Vaughn's layup with 8 minutes to go in the half, gave them a 20-12 lead.
Camille Little's three-point play pulled Seattle to 24-21 near the midpoint of the second quarter, but Pondexter followed with a three-pointer and Vaughn had a turnaround jumper to push the Liberty's lead to eight with 3 minutes to go in the period.

''It's a big loss,'' Carson said of Vaughn. ''But as you saw today, when one goes down everyone's willing to step up. When Plenette went down, we had a lot of people step up. As long as we continue to pick up the slack we'll be all right. And when they come back, we'll be even stronger.''
Ann Wauters and Tina Thompson scored 10 points each for Seattle (6-8), which snapped a five-game winning streak. The Storm shot just 32 percent from the field (19 for 59), including 4 for 22 on 3-pointers. They also committed 25 turnovers - their most since having 27 in the season opener against Los Angeles - which led to 20 points for the Liberty.

False arrest

Lost in the hoopla over the Supreme Courts ruling upholding the Affordable Care Act is a fascinating and important free-speech decision that is one of the oddest in the already strange history of the First Amendment.
The case, Alvarez v. United States, was all about lies. The first sentence of Justice Anthony Kennedys plurality opinion is an instant classic: Lying was his habit.
This is a substantial understatement. Xavier Alvarez was a fabulist straight out of Mark Twain. He lied when he said that he played hockey for the Detroit Red Wings and that he once married a starlet from Mexico. When newly elected to the local water board in Claremont, Calif., Alvarez falsely told his new colleagues that he was a retired Marine who had received the Medal of Honor after being wounded repeatedly by the same aggressor.
ZUMApress
Xavier Alvarez can keep saying hes a Marine.
This last lie was unlike the others. It violated the Stolen Valor Act of 2005, which made it a crime to lie about decorations received in military service. It was already a crime to lie about military service in order to defraud the government or private person of some gain. The Stolen Valor Act criminalized the mere act of lying about military decorations, full stop. No intention to defraud was required.
Alvarez seems not to have sought to gain anything by his lie other than esteem. This made him a perfect test case for a question that previously tormented no one but law professors and their students: Does the right to free speech extend to lying for no otherwise unlawful gain?
On the surface, the issue might seem straightforward. With the possible exception of Justice Hugo Black, who liked to say that Congress shall make no law really meant no law at all, no Supreme Court justice has ever believed free speech to be absolute. At times, the court has said that certain kinds of speech such as obscenity, libel and the ill-defined fighting words deserve no protection whatsoever. Although that categorical approach has faded from the courts jurisprudence, the justices still believe that speech must have some value to merit protection under the First Amendment.
What value inheres in lies about simple matters of fact? What good could possibly come of Alvarez telling people that he risked his life for his country when he did no such thing?
Three justices Samuel Alito, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas said the answer was, none. There was no reason, they said, to stop Congress from criminalizing lies about military service.
