Liberty snatch vital point against Wassaman United

Liberty Professionals denied visiting Wassaman United their fifth win of the season by coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw in the Week 20 Glo Premier League match on Wednesday at the Sly Tetteh Stadium, Dansoman.

A blunder by former national goalie Stephen Ahorlu gifted Liberty Professionals an image saving equalizer through substitute Christopher Nkansah four minutes from time after the visitors shot into a surprise lead through Evans Nyarko.

Wassaman, who are languishing amongst the bottom rungs of the league log displayed an output that contradicted their position matching their hosts squarely in every department of the game.

Referee Nuhu Yakubu Liman gave out a below par performance that left officials and fans of the host team stunned and visibly disappointment throughout the game.

Liberty had the first chance at goal on 20 minutes when Latif Salifu laid a perfect pass to Ibrahima Kamara, but the latter shot at the feet of onrushing goalie Ahorlu.

Few minutes later, Libertys goalie Daniel Agyei was to come to his sides rescue by stretching to his elastic limit to parry wide Nyarkos curling free-kick at the edge of their penalty area.

The game remained balanced but it was Libertys Salifu who fluffed the best chance of the opening by heading wide from close range from Richard Antwis cross.

The hosts had the upper hand in the second half but failed to break the deadlock with Kwame Boahene, Francis Morton and Salifu failing to score from close range.

Liberty Interactive Corp. ( LINTA ) is diversifying its businesses globally. The company's TV and online retail segment, QVC Inc., recently entered into a definitive agreement to form a joint venture with China National Radio ( CNR ), the government controlled radio division of China.

The joint venture will be known as "CNR Home Shopping Co., Ltd." QVC will hold 49% stake and China National Radio will control the remaining 51% share. However, the financial terms of this venture is still undisclosed.

Around 35 million Chinese households watch China National Radio's own home shopping TV channel, CNR Mall TV. The joint venture will further aggressively operate a multimedia retailing business in China through CNR Mall TV and its e-commerce website. At present, QVC's programming is distributed to approximately 195 million homes worldwide.

Excluding the U.S., the company already has presence in the U.K., Germany, Japan, and Italy. Currently, the company is trying to extensively penetrate highly lucrative and large Chinese market. In future, QVC will try to enter other emerging markets, such as India and Brazil besides entering into France and Spain.

Liberty Interactive's QVC division has become the undisputed market leader in the $8 billion TV home-shopping business. Currently, QVC commands an estimated 69% market share, far ahead of its nearest rivals, HSN Inc. ( HSNI ) and ValueVision Media Inc. ( VVTV ). In the previous quarter, QVC segment generated a total revenue of $2,649 million, of which nearly one third came from its international operations. The company is expecting this figure to reach 50% by next 5 years.

Liberty Interactive's Internet operations are a primary growth engine. We expect QVC to continue leveraging its brand to rapidly grow its Internet operations. This segment currently generates approximately 87% of the company's total revenue and 96% of profit. This is the introduction of the article that was posted at Truther last February 13, 2012 entitled : Colonial Elite Rules China for the Illuminati. It was first posted at henrymakow.com.

Since then, several other websites and bloggers picked up the article and reposted it. Various comments from readers ranges from skepticism to amazement.

What interest me most is how this articles revelation affects the cold war (word wars) and tension in the disputed areas in the South China Sea. As one of the claimants, we have to be aware of the undercurrents thats going on in the region. Why is Uncle Sam so persistent that the disputes between China and the claimant countries should be resolved multilaterally?

It was mentioned in the said article that the fascist superpower we know today was created in the second half of the 20th century by the bogus Cold War dialectic of communism vs. capitalism.

Will there be a repeat of this scenario today?

Actually, thats just the tip of the iceberg. They want pretty much all of your freedoms. If, however, we let them take away our Second Amendment rights, we will have no means with which to keep them from taking away everything else from us. There is a famous quote attributed to Isoroku Yamamoto about Japan not attacking the United States mainland because there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass. Though the quote has had some doubt cast on its substantiation, think about it what it says. Who knows how many times our nation has been saved from invasion because our citizenry is so well armed? Now, take that a step further. If the current administrations rocket ride toward tyranny were to ever reach the point that either the United Nations or (May God help us!) our own government were to take up arms against the citizens of this great nation, the only weapons we would have with which to defend our families and our homes would be the arms that we had managed to keep from being confiscated. Now, lets see; Which of our fine, upstanding elected officials would want to disarm us? Hillary Clinton has been on board for years with the United Nations plans to implement a global ban on small arms. This means a system of registering, banning, and confiscating firearms owned by private citizens. Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton has warned gun owners about the Arms Trade Treaty and the fact that the U.N. is not being honest about its true goals, which are not just to control international arms trade between nations, but to actually control domestic firearms. Barack Obama, of course, is all about big government and limited freedom for the common citizenry who arent part of the ruling elite. His affinity for George Soros, the Open Society pusher, is just one symptom of his longing for the government to get its tentacles into every aspect of our lives. He loves gun control. He would prefer a world where only the government had guns. Guess what would be next if we lost our Second Amendment protection? With a czar around every corner, thanks to Barack Obama, and executive orders flowing from the White House like a swift-running river, it wouldnt take anytime at all to see the United States of America cease to exist as we know it. I believe the current administration would just as soon sell us out to the United Nations, or simply nullify any semblance of our Constitution and Bill of Rights as they would do any of the treacherous things they are doing to us right now. Rumblings of ICLEI were heard surrounding the recent Maumelle Watershed Project. Folks, ICLEI and U.N. Agenda 21 are all over our country like a big, ugly duck on a helpless little junebug. Guns in parking lots bill appears dead for now

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A bill to allow guns in parking lots is pretty much dead for the year. The legislation, which caused quite a controversy, pits Second Amendment rights against privacy rights.

Tennessee Democrats say they stopped what would have been a big deterrent for new business in the state.

They helped send the so-called "Guns in Parking Lots" bill into a summer study. That means the bill will not advance any further this legislative session.

Thursday, House Republican and Democratic leaders spoke about the bill. State Rep. Mike Turner, D-Old Hickory, chair of the Democratic Caucus, says they dodged a bullet.

He says he supports the Second Amendment, but this measure went too far.

"I believe in the Second Amendment, but it's been broadly interpreted what that means here lately," he said. "I think the next thing you know we'll be carrying guns in the factory cafeteria, so I think they keep reaching on the issue."

Republican leaders say the legislation is not gone forever - it just needs more study before they make a final determination.

"This caucus is dedicated to gun rights, the Second Amendment," said House Speaker Beth Harwell, R-Nashville. "We are also dedicated to property rights, and right now we're trying to merge those to where we get to a point where we are satisfied."

One issue still up for debate is whether to allow any employee to keep a gun in their car or only allow it for gun permit holders.

Talking to the broadcaster yesterday, Tang said he revealed Leung's views on the matter last week because he knew his rival candidate for chief executive "stands a real chance of getting elected" and the public deserve to know what kind of leader they are getting.

During Friday's TV debate, Tang also accused Leung of urging that riot police and tear gas be deployed against demonstrators after 500,000 people took to the streets to protest a proposed anti-subversion law on July 1, 2003.

Tang was secretary for commerce, industry and technology at the time, while Leung was Executive Council convener.

Tang also said the two revelations were not premeditated, explaining that Leung provoked him by mentioning his extramarital affairs and referring to a sofa in his office that an alleged mistress reportedly referred to in an e-mail.

"He made use of unconfirmed information, and that was mean and shameful," Tang said.

He said Leung called for a shortening of Commercial Radio's license from 12 to three years in an Exco meeting after the 2003 protest, in a bid to muzzle hosts Raymond "Mad Dog" Wong Yuk-man and Albert Cheng King-hon.

Leung said the pair "were being tough with the government in that they kept criticizing it," Tang alleged. "He [Leung] suggested making use of the licence

But Tang had insisted the license period not be shortened because freedom of speech is one of the SAR's core values.

I need to start this off with a note to the editor:

Put a bright yellow border around this column with the words "Designated Free Speech Area" stenciled in.

That would match what Modesto city officials recently imposed upon the sidewalk at the transportation center downtown.

This episode involves Kevin Borden, who in 2009 received a $1 settlement in federal court from the city after it stopped him from preaching fire-and-brimstone sermons in front of Brenden Theatres at Tenth Street Place. The city also had to pay $35,000 to cover his legal fees.

Ultimately, he took his pulpit to the transportation center, preaching atop a box near the ticket office and infor- mation booth.

On Dec. 6, according to documents, some bus riders complained about him and particularly how loudly he spoke in the always noisy bus depot.

Marcie Garza, who has dispensed tickets and route information for the past six years, said that while he didn't bother her, he did bother some of the bus riders. A policeman told him to move and he refused, again challenging the city.

The city's legal department determined that it controls the "time, place or manner" of protected speech in public. Because the depot wasn't created for the "purposes of assembly, communicating thoughts between citizens, and discussing public questions," it could decide where on the premises he could exercise his free speech rights.

Hence, it created the "Designated Free Speech Area" on a sidewalk about 25 yards away, closer to where riders board the lesser-used county buses and next to the Union Pacific tracks. It's a box painted on the sidewalk.

Remember the TV show "WKRP in Cincinnati," when ag reporter Les Nessman taped lines on the floor to act as the walls of his imaginary "office"? It's that kind of thing.
