(UPI) -- A lawsuit filed by a Brooklyn man alleges that New York City police burst into his aunts apartment without permission and refused to let him leave until he busted out a rap song for them. <\/p>\n

Along with his aunt Donyale Kitchens, Quinshon Shingles is suing New York City, Det. Joseph E. Patton, Officer David Grieco and three other officers in Federal Court. <\/p>\n

According to Kitchens, officers entered her Brooklyn apartment without permission in search of a family friend whose own home had been shot at. Shingles went to his aunt's apartment to see why police were there and thats when things got interesting. <\/p>\n

The officers handcuffed Kitchens son, his friend and Shingles. At some point during their 90-minute search of the apartment, the officers learned that Shingles could rap. <\/p>\n

The complaint continues: <\/p>\n

Kitchens and Shingles are seeking punitive damages for unlawful search, unlawful arrest, unlawful imprisonment, failure to intervene, and municipal liability. <\/p>\n
