NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa - One of the candidates to become North Liberty's police chief has dropped out of the running. <\/p>\n

Cliff Sessoms, the deputy police chief of the Marion, Ind. Police Department has withdrawn his name from consideration, according to a press release from the City of North Liberty. <\/p>\n

The four remaining finalists are: <\/p>\n

Diana Venega, who has served as North Liberty's interim police chief since February. <\/p>\n

Lt. Mike Brotherton of the Iowa City Police Department. <\/p>\n

Carlisle, Iowa Police Chief Jason Doll. <\/p>\n

Commander Brad Nelson of the Columbia, Mo. Police Department. <\/p>\n

The public will have a chance to meet the four finalists next Wednesday, 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the North Liberty Community Library. The event was moved from the City Council Chambers because of a scheduling conflict. <\/p>\n

North Liberty city staff, councilors and area law enforcement will also interview the candidates with the hope of selecting a chief shortly after the interviews.<\/p>\n
