It implies that Social Security needs fixing now, which it does not. There is $2.5 trillion in the Social Security Trust Fund, and according to the Congressional Budget Office, the fund will continue to grow until 2017. Then it will begin to diminish, and in 2037 the fund may be depleted. At that time, adjustments will have to be made.
