PhilipGlenister has become the new favorite to replace booted Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear and hes already an outspoken car enthusiast. <\/p>\n
Glenister is well known in the UK for his role as a politically-incorrect detective, DCI Gene Hunt, in Life on Mars. <\/p>\n
The Guardian reported that Glenister has now taken the lead as favourite, replacing Great British Bake Off host Sue Perkins as most likely to take on the role. <\/p>\n
Odds have been slashed from 10-1 to 2-1 after the Sun on Sunday reported that the BBC is considering hiring the actor-turned-presenter. <\/p>\n
Top Gear has remained tight lipped and is refusing to comment on the speculation. <\/p>\n
As well as playing cop Glenister also hosts For the Love of Cars on the UKs Channel 4. <\/p>\n
The car enthusiast wastes no chance to get behind the wheel and indulge his passion on the show. <\/p>\n
Jeremy Clarkson was sacked from Top Gear after an altercation with a producer. <\/p>\n
