He may not be in public office anymore but former Republican Congressman Ron Paul is still talking about his values. <\/p>\n
The former presidential candidate spoke to about 650 people at the University of South Florida in Tampa Wednesday night. The school's student-run University Lecture Series arranged his speech. <\/p>\n
Paul spoke about his distaste for Obamacare and the country's financial issues where he called for an audit of the Federal Reserve. Above all, he spoke about the value of individual liberty. <\/p>\n
Bay News 9 spoke one-on-one with Paul just before his speech. He said he loves speaking to college students. <\/p>\n
\"I have found a very receptive audience in the young people and if they're willing to listen I'm willing to talk, he said. So I look forward to it and the message will be all the same because I believe we have a mess because government is too big, individuals don't have enough responsibility for themselves. <\/p>\n
Paul left office in 2013. He said he doesn't have plans to run for anything else. His son, Senator Rand Paul, is on the list of potential presidential contenders for 2016. <\/p>\n
