Red Thread Stories is offering residents the chance to tell their politically incorrect stories in front of an audience. <\/p>\n
This very live, very interactive and very reality-based storytelling night is an open mic event. <\/p>\n
Red Thread Stories is hosted and produced by professional storyteller Karen Czarnik and first- place winner of the 2012 National Storytelling Networks Story Slam. <\/p>\n
The next event takes place Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Uptown Grille, 3100 E. West Maple, Commerce Township. Doors open at 5 p.m. and stories begin at 7:30 p.m. <\/p>\n
This is the second in a series of seven monthly events. The first event was sold out, so get there early. <\/p>\n
Stories must be five minutes or less and fit the theme Politically Incorrect. <\/p>\n
Some examples of topics are sex, race, disability, minority, culture, etc. views political or others that may have made you or some else uncomfortable. <\/p>\n
Stories will be judged by an audience and expert panel. <\/p>\n
Stories will be evaluated on how well they are told, whether or not they fit the format of story (no comedy routines or soapboxing), and on whether or not they meet the time limit. <\/p>\n
