The Constitutional Council (CC) has recommended former Chief Justice Anup Raj Sharma's name for the vacant post of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Chairman, on Thursday. <\/p>\n

A meeting of the CC on Thursday morning took this decision. <\/p>\n

Similarly, the council forwarded the names of former Commissioner of National Women's Commission (NWC) Mohana Ansari, former Justice Prakash Osti, human right activists Sudeep Pathak and Govinda Sharma Poudel, as members of NHRC. <\/p>\n

Chairman of the Constituent Assembly (CA) Subash Nembang, who is also a member of the Constitutional Council, informed that discussions were held on the process of filling up vacant posts in other constitution bodies, in the council's meeting. <\/p>\n

Nembang added that the process will be expedited after Prime Minister Sushil Koirala returns from the United States, after attending the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to be held on September 26. Nepalnews.com <\/p>\n
