He quit so Denny Morrison, in what could be his last Olympics, could have another chance at a podium the story of these Games. <\/p>\n
But the story has only been written one way and the legitimacy of Morrisons medal completely ignored. <\/p>\n
The \"story\" competitive spirit be damned the majoritys only concern. <\/p>\n
A fall at the Olympic trials should have kept Morrison out of the race. <\/p>\n
Four Canadians including Junio were supposed to compete in Wednesdays event. <\/p>\n
During the single-round event, Canadas Muncef Ouardi finished 32nd, William Dutton 26th and Vincent de Haitre 20th, close to two seconds off the pace. <\/p>\n
They competed. Junio didnt. <\/p>\n
After reportedly being approached by Canadian coach Sean Ireland to forfeit his spot, the 41st-ranked Junio agreed to a self-imposed disqualification that quite frankly calls the entire competition into question. <\/p>\n
