Share everything<\/p>\n
Play fair<\/p>\n
Dont hit people<\/p>\n
Put things back where you found them<\/p>\n
Clean up your own mess<\/p>\n
Dont take things that arent yours<\/p>\n
Say youre sorry when you hurt somebody<\/p>\n
Wash your hands before you eat<\/p>\n
Flush<\/p>\n
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you<\/p>\n
Live a balanced life learn some and think some<\/p>\n
and draw and paint and sing and dance and play<\/p>\n
and work every day some<\/p>\n
Take a nap every afternoon<\/p>\n
When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic<\/p>\n
hold hands, and stick together<\/p>\n
Be aware of wonder<\/p>\n
Remember the little seed in the styrofoam cup:<\/p>\n
The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody<\/p>\n
really knows how or why, but we are all like that<\/p>\n
Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even<\/p>\n
the little seed in the Styrofoam cup they all die<\/p>\n
So do we<\/p>\n
And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books<\/p>\n
and the first word you learned the biggest<\/p>\n
word of all LOOK<\/p>\n
Everything you need to know is in there somewhere<\/p>\n
The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation<\/p>\n
Ecology and politics and equality and sane living<\/p>\n
Take any of those items and extrapolate it into<\/p>\n
sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your<\/p>\n
family life or your work or your government or<\/p>\n
your world and it holds true and clear and firm<\/p>\n
Think what a better world it would be if<\/p>\n
all the whole world had cookies and milk about<\/p>\n
three oclock every afternoon and then lay down with<\/p>\n
our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments<\/p>\n
had a basic policy to always put things back where<\/p>\n
they found them and to clean up their own mess<\/p>\n
And it is still true, no matter how old you<\/p>\n
are - when you go out into the world, it is best<\/p>\n
to hold hands and stick together.<\/p>\n
As Mr. Fulghum stated,wisdom has never been taught at the \"top of the graduate school mountain,\" and likely never will be. Tragically this lack of wisdom is the primary reason why America faces the overwhelming, life-or-deathchallenges it does today. And the epicenter of this lack of wisdom is and has beenWashington, D.C. The most recent gross neglect and incompetence (COVID-19)and immeasurable pain and suffering causedis unconscionable and unforgivable! Sadly, the \"sins and iniquity of the fathers,\" surely are visited upon their children for generations to come.<\/p>\n
May we all better incorporate into our lives that which we should have learned in kindergarten!<\/p>\n
