However, a number of private islands just off Vancouver Island are also at the top of the list.<\/p>\n<p>The most expensive single-family residence on Vancouver Island, which is also the second-most expensive property in the region overall, is located in Oak Bay at 3160 Humber Rd. According to real estate website Redfin, the 11,291-square-foot house has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and was originally constructed in 1996.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the most expensive property in the region is not a single home itself, but an entire island.<\/p>\n<p>James Island, located just east of North Saanich, is considered the most expensive property in the region this year, and is assessed at roughly $57,747,000.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the private island was considered the third-most expensive property across B.C., just behind two single-family residences in Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p>The 100th most expensive property on Vancouver Island can be found in North Saanich.
