The high seas adventures were at the Hannibal Aquatic Center Saturday, June 24, as 19 boats participated in cardboard boat races. <\/p>\n
Youngsters enjoyed their time being skippers and first mates, navigating the boats they made through the water. Some of the boats were a little more seaworthy, and some of them sank right as the contestants got on board. <\/p>\n
The cardboard boat races were sponsored by Hannibal Parks & Recreation. <\/p>\n
The race came down to the wire, as the fastest boats competed in the last heat. <\/p>\n

First place: Prestan Schanbacher and Zane Lomax <\/p>\n
Second place: Alex Arthaud and Patrick Arthaud <\/p>\n
Third place: Jocelyn Clark and Andrew Clark <\/p>\n
Best Dressed <\/p>\n
First place: William Rolsen and Jordyn Schmelzle <\/p>\n
Second place: Adyson Ryan-Davis and Chevelle Pope <\/p>\n
Third place: Kael Viehmann and Gage Conrad <\/p>\n
Titanic Award <\/p>\n
First place: Jay Arnold and Calvin Biggs <\/p>\n
Second place: Isaiah Fessenden and Hannah Fessenden <\/p>\n
Third place: Terner Otten and Ben Schisler <\/p>\n
Jenna McDonald, aquatics director at Hannibal Aquatics Center, reported a successful event and said the cardboard boat race will be tentatively scheduled for June 23 next year. <\/p>\n
