The launch of the super fast torpedo is not against international law - but comes directly as the world is trying to convince North Korea to calm down. <\/p>\n
Three senior defence officials confirmed to US media the test on Sunday had been carried out, but refused to say whether it was successful. <\/p>\n
It is claimed the high-speed torpedo was sent out near the Strait of Hormuz. <\/p>\n

Each official interviewed by NBC did not believe there was any immediate risk to the USS George HW Bush strike group in the Gulf. <\/p>\n
There has been rising tension between the US and Iran since the inauguration of MrTrump. <\/p>\n
Last week Iran attempted to launch a cruise missile from a submarine in the Strait of Hormuz, it was reported. <\/p>\n
There has been no confirmation of the test from Tehran. <\/p>\n

The missile was tested after threats from Iran to destroy Saudi Arabia. <\/p>\n
A Saudi prince Mohammed bin Salman said there was no space for dialogue with rival Iran due to its Shiite ambitions \"to control the Islamic world. <\/p>\n
But Iranian defence minister, Hossein Dehghan warned: \"If the Saudis do anything ignorant, we will leave no area untouched except Mecca and Medina.\" <\/p>\n
