Logistics technology provider FourKites Inc. said today it has extended the integration of its real-time tracking tools with JDA Software Group Inc.'s transportation management system (TMS), teaming with SMC3 Inc. to support greater supply chain visibility and orchestration. <\/p>\n
JDA customers will now receive a more robust transportation solution that addresses all loads and supports carrier connectivity, efficient on-boarding, and real-time access to a view of the entire the supply chain, FourKites said. <\/p>\n
The move deepens the partnership between JDA and FourKites, first announced in 2016, when JDA said it was adding real-time visibility and predictive analytics to its TMS platform through deals with technology providers FourKites, Inttra Inc., and TransVoyant LLC. <\/p>\n
JDA also added to its load-tracking tools when it announced last week it would integrate MacroPoint software into its TMS, giving JDA users access to MacroPoint's tools for managing and tracking their end-to-end shipments by compiling data from cell phones, in-cab ELD\/GPS devices, or trailer and container tracking systems. <\/p>\n
The latest integration adds to that trend by providing visibility over truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), rail, parcel andstarting in Septemberocean. FourKites will generate the LTL tracking data by joining forces with freight-pricing software firm SMC3, using its application programming interface (API) technology to create a single integration point for all LTL carriers, providing granular visibility of information across all legs of the shipment, FourKites said. <\/p>\n
