The 10-month-old baby boy suffering from an extreme case of eczema now has the medicine he needs. We first told you about Martez on 7News at 6 Tuesday. Martez's body is covered with scales and peeling skin, but the medicine he needs isn't covered under Soonercare, the state's health insurance for low-income families. A viewer saw our story on 7News and offered up the cash to pay for cream. Two hours later, Martez's mother Maryah had the medicine in her hand. <\/p>\n
\"Thank you for all the help and support,\" Maryah said. \"He's very thankful for it.\" <\/p>\n
The medicine costs about $300. The man who bought it wanted to remain anonymous. The Greater Galilee Baptist Church in Lawton also reached out and offered to pay for a tube of the cream. Each tube only lasts about two weeks, because the eczema has taken over most of Martez' body. <\/p>\n
He will see a dermatologist on November 8th. The doctor could then sign-off on an exception for the baby to get the medicine under Soonercare. <\/p>\n

LAWTON Okla_ A 10-month-old Lawton baby is suffering from severe eczema. The skin condition has taken over most of Martez Adams' body. <\/p>\n
His mother Maryah can't get the medicine he needs because Soonercare doesn't cover it. That's the state's Medicaid: health insurance for low-income families. Because the out-of-pocket cost is so high, she has resorted to over-the-counter creams and ointments. <\/p>\n
It has come down to finding the best product to keep the baby's skin as soft and moisturized as she can, but because she can not get her hands on the prescription steroid, it hasn't been easy. Now, she's fearful not having access to the medicine will lead her child to becoming sick or attracting an infection. <\/p>\n
A doctor told Maryah Adams her son's eczema is one of the worst cases he has seen. If left untreated for any more than a few hours, the skin begins to get tough. <\/p>\n
