Sterbcow said those who were not crew members and were contracted could fall under the Death on the High Seas Act.The disparity is glaring, Sterbcow said. \"Let's say you have a younger worker who was never married or has no children and only supports himself or herself when the vessel capsized under the death on the High Seas Act. Given there is no one that can claim loss of economic support, and there are no minor children, the only thing that is left in that claim is funeral and burial expenses.\" Sterbcow couldn't say which cases fall under the death on the High Seas Act.
