Universal Robots will be showcasing its latest thinking in collaborative automation at the first edition of the Modern Manufacturing Expo in Sydney this month. <\/p>\n
The company has cemented a name for itself as a partner to the local industry and is actively working on building a larger presence in Australia, said Masayuki (Masa) Mase, Country Manager for Universal Robots Oceania. <\/p>\n
He said: We are excited to be part of Modern Manufacturing Expo history<\/p>\n
We have invested in on-the-ground sales and technical support and are able to service customers across the region.<\/p>\n
Its no secret that the demand for collaborative automation continues to soar, with Universal Robots latest recorded annual earnings indicative of rapid growth. <\/p>\n
Despite the economic challenges faced globally, automation came out on top in manufacturer thinking. <\/p>\n
We have reported growth of 30 percent across the first two quarters of 2022 compared to the first half of 2021. <\/p>\n
Supply chains issues, reshoring of manufacturing, labour shortages and lights-out manufacturing are catalysts for growth in the sector, he said.<\/p>\n
Companies need to compete at both a local and an international level. <\/p>\n
Gone are the days where regions were reliant on head office to produce and ship goods. <\/p>\n
Whats on Display from Universal Robots <\/p>\n
Masa said: We recently launched the UR20 a next-generation collaborative robot (cobot) with a reach of 1750mm and a 20kg payload. <\/p>\n
The higher payload and better reach makes this the ideal solution for more heavy-duty palletising duties.<\/p>\n
Depending on the joint type, customers can also enjoy a 65 percent increase in speed and a 25 percent increase in joint torque capability. <\/p>\n
In addition, Universal Robots will further acquaint visitors with some of the companys most in demand options.<\/p>\n
The UR10e has been upgraded to accommodate a payload of 12.5kg. <\/p>\n
Its one of our most versatile and popular cobots and its well suited to the likes of machine tending and palletising which are very popular applications in the local market. <\/p>\n
Finally, Masa said that Universal Robots will present a novel welding application demonstration at the Sydney Expo. <\/p>\n
Globally, automation for welding applications remains one of the key requirements of our customers. <\/p>\n
A cobot adds flexibility, efficiency, and freedom to welding processes. <\/p>\n
In addition, when the task is completed, it can be easily redeployed to other areas where it can add further value. <\/p>\n
Masa said: Businesses both big and small are embracing the benefits of automation. <\/p>\n
Its no longer a nice-to-have, its now a necessity to help business remain competitive. <\/p>\n
Meeting this imperative perfectly sums up the aim of this show. <\/p>\n
