Officers with the Lexington Police Department were grilling hot dogs and reaching out to the community through Hot Dogs with a Cop program.<\/p>\n
The first event was held July 7, 2022 and then continued this past Thursday at Lexington Village just off of South Broad Street.<\/p>\n
This is a good program, Lexington Police Chief Roger Lofton said. It is a good way for officers to interact with the public.<\/p>\n
LPD Investigators Ricky Montgomery and Jesse Gibson came up with the idea.<\/p>\n
This is a positive thing, Lofton said. It shows that law enforcement is just a small part of our job.<\/p>\n
The police department will also be working with Lexington Fire<\/p>\n
