We've delved into our archives again to bring you some old photographs taken in Chester during the 1980s - a decade much-loved by so many.<\/p>\n
Some images offer a snapshot of life in the city back then, while others show us familiar streets as well as lost shops and establishments.<\/p>\n
There are a few Chester Zoo shots to enjoy - including an image of the old entrance to the popular visitor attraction which is unrecognisable these days.<\/p>\n

Chester legend Ian Rush is captured by a press photographer netting a winner at the old Sealand Road stadium at the turn of the decade, while another picture shows the damage caused to the County Stand at Chester Racecourse following a fire in September 1985.<\/p>\n
The stand, built in the 19th century, burnt down as a result of the blaze. Racing continued with temporary facilities until the modern day County Stand was opened in May 1988.<\/p>\n
