SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- For the first time in two years, Proteus Inc. will be hosting a Farmer Recognition Breakfast at the Four Winds Casino on Thursday, March 31.<\/p>\n
The event begins at 7:30 a.m. with guest speakers beginning their addresses at 8 a.m. These speakers include career coach, Jesusa Rivera, South Bend Mayor Mueller, and a number of Indiana State Representatives. <\/p>\n
This opportunity bookends National Farmworkers Awareness Week that runs from March 27 to March 31.<\/p>\n
Proteus Inc. is a nonprofit that serves agricultural workers across Iowa, Nebraska, and Indiana. They work to aid workers in job training, education assistance, and providing health services. <\/p>\n
Cancelled for the past two years due to COVID-19, Proteus Inc. hosts this event to recognize and honor the laborers that provide food for family's tables.<\/p>\n
