LARCHWOODA 52-year-old Sioux Falls, SD, man was arrested about 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, on charges of first-offense possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine, first-offense possession of a controlled substance marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and fourth-degree theft at Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort northwest of Larchwood.<\/p>\n
The arrest of John Christopher Ulrich stemmed from him stealing a wallet off a chair while on the gaming floor of the casino on Sunday, Feb. 13, according to the Lyon County Sheriffs Office.<\/p>\n
Ulrich then went to the bathroom and left the casino through a back door.<\/p>\n
The wallet contained $400-$600 in cash, credit cards and gift cards.<\/p>\n
Ulrich returned to the casinos gaming floor on Feb. 21. He was placed in handcuffs and removed from the casino.<\/p>\n
While in the parking lot, Ulrich tossed a drawstring bag that he had.<\/p>\n
Authorities found individual bags containing methamphetamine, two meth pipes, a container of marijuana and a marijuana pipe in the drawstring bag, according to court documents.<\/p>\n
