Jeremy Vine lost it on his Channel 5 show as guests argued over whether or not there is a border between Northern Ireland and the UK. Former Brexit Party MEP Ann Widdecombe insisted there was one while commentator Owen Jones slammed down her claims. Ms Widdecombe said: \"I do not wish away Northern Ireland's role as a full part of the United Kingdom and that is what is now under threat. We weren't proposing a hard border.\"<\/p>\n
Mr Jones added: \"Any border would destabilise the peace process that's the point.\"<\/p>\n
Mr Widdecombe continued: \"There is a border there. The idea there isn't a border...\"<\/p>\n
Mr Vine interjected: \"We're heading for the sixth anniversary of this argument.<\/p>\n
\"We still haven't worked it out because we had a land border with the EU. We're in a big political crisis in all points; north, south, east, and west.<\/p>\n

It comes as a High Court judge has issued an interim order suspending a decision by Agriculture Minister Edwin Poots to direct a stop to Brexit agri-food checks at Northern Ireland ports.<\/p>\n
Mr Justice Colton said he was making the temporary direction until a judicial review against the DUP minister's decision can be heard in full.<\/p>\n
DUP minister Mr Poots acted unilaterally this week to order a halt to port checks that are required under the Northern Ireland Protocol.<\/p>\n
Civil servants have yet to implement the instruction, pending legal clarity on their obligations, and checks are continuing.<\/p>\n
The judge pointed out that the checks had been ongoing for more than a year and that the order to halt them had been brought at short notice.<\/p>\n
A barrister for the Department of Agriculture told the court that their position was that the direction by Mr Poots was \"entirely lawful\".<\/p>\n
He said: \"The minister has looked at the matter, he is not prepared to give an undertaking in the meantime.<\/p>\n
\"The department's position is that the decision taken, and instructions given to officials, were entirely lawful.\"<\/p>\n
