He spends a lot of time with<\/p>\n convention protesters and reveals all the counter-culture events<\/p>\n pertaining to the gathering. Much time is spent at the Yippie<\/p>\n Peace Camp the abandoned Worlds Fair parking lot where the<\/p>\n box of troubles burned and other Yippie events. Details of the<\/p>\n convention are considered and explained, as well as pertinent<\/p>\n historical correlations. The novel ends with a wrapping up of<\/p>\n details concerning the leading characters and relevant events.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n CHAPTER 29<\/p>\n Pie in the Sky at Peace Camp<\/p>\n<\/p>\n SURVEILLANCE PELICANA<\/p>\n Chapter Twenty-Nine<\/p>\n Weisman<\/p>\n 593<\/p>\n<\/p>\n By Wednesday August 17, Armors is mad as hell about events<\/p>\n pertaining to the convention. The utter banality of the<\/p>\n proceeding coupled with the unbelievably unconstitutional nature<\/p>\n of unpublicized mass arrests convince him to take matters into<\/p>\n his own hands.<\/p>\n Armors grabs Tyger by the proverbial lapel<\/p>\n taking it to thestreets. Guess who is driving.<\/p>\n About 11 a.m. on a typically hot and humid New Orleans<\/p>\n mid-morning, Tyger climbs in the cockpit of his muffler not <\/p>\n bomb that somehow manages to navigate around town. Adjusting an<\/p>\n internal compass, he heads east beneath a cloudless sky for the<\/p>\n streetcar line.<\/p>\n Armors mission is simple. Seek out Republicants<\/p>\n wherever they land, preferably in groups of three and smaller,<\/p>\n and destroy them with well placed barbs.<\/p>\n In other words, engage the invaders in one-on-one dogfights<\/p>\n using the quick verbal zap technique before fleeing the scene. It<\/p>\n is a classic guerilla campaign thanks to General Giaps handy<\/p>\n training manual with a hardy assist from Joe Fine mobile Israeli tactics.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n SURVEILLANCE PELICANA<\/p>\n Chapter Twenty-Nine<\/p>\n Weisman<\/p>\n 594<\/p>\n<\/p>\n This way, mobility plus intimate knowledge of the<\/p>\n area can be used effectively to overwhelm the confused target and<\/p>\n defeat it. Then, executing a timely escape enables the<\/p>\n guerilla to seek and destroy another objective. The tactic has a<\/p>\n certain charm, plus the additional safety first factor.<\/p>\n Targets must be chosen carefully.<\/p>\n Of course, it is easy to spot delegates and their fellow<\/p>\n travelers. They stick out like Cajun pig sandwiches cochon<\/p>\n dlait for the goyim at a kosher supper.<\/p>\n Repub delegates are the ridiculous fools wearing<\/p>\n jackets and dress suits plastered with ridiculous badges,<\/p>\n buttons, and symbols. Fellow travelers, as well, are costumed in<\/p>\n formal wear of the poorest taste. They all seem to be gunning for<\/p>\n Mr. Blackwells worst dressed list and quite a few appear to be<\/p>\n making it.<\/p>\n First up at 11:15 high Armors blows reefer, as Tyger avoids<\/p>\n radio contact due to the need to concentrate on prosecution of<\/p>\n the offensive is an insipid well dressed man right out of<\/p>\n Blue Velvet. He looks quite lost along the neutral ground just<\/p>\n past Napoleon Avenue. Josephine this, baby.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n SURVEILLANCE PELICANA<\/p>\n Chapter Twenty-Nine<\/p>\n Weisman<\/p>\n 595<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Tyger checks right and left; nobody else in the vicinity,<\/p>\n no traffic behind him, all systems a go go, big brother . Tyger<\/p>\n slows his vehicle to a crawl, waiting until the man looks his way.<\/p>\n Then, Armors lets loose theinitial volley<\/p>\n of his personal guerrilla war on evil. Repuboscum<\/p>\n faggot. Everybody hates your shitty guts, boom boom boom. Tyger<\/p>\n speeds away, leaving the guy with a pissed off expression staring<\/p>\n at mother the cars dust.<\/p>\n Tyger checks in all directions. No one else has noticed.<\/p>\n Direct hit mission control. We bagged a dead live one.<\/p>\n Armors is somewhat disappointed in his<\/p>\n initial encounter. The tactic works great, but he wants<\/p>\n a more special brand of verbal abuse for a special brand of inbred<\/p>\n porkers.<\/p>\n Another target about 11:30 a.m., 12 oclock high about 50<\/p>\n yards down the neutral ground. Looking bad, two Repubbubbly<\/p>\n women replete in hideous suit dress camouflage with tell-tale<\/p>\n badges.<\/p>\n Tyger checks all directions, slows almost to a stop. Armors<\/p>\n attracts their attention by waving his right hand out the cockpit<\/p>\n glass. They take the bait and look his way.<\/p>\n Hey bitches, Armors yells. How many Contras have you fucked.
