Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday ordered flags to half staff Monday in Florida in Honorof Naval Air Station Pensacola Remembrance Day.<\/p>\n
On December 6, 2019, a horrific act of terrorism was committed at Naval Air Station Pensacola, taking the lives of three U.S. Navy sailors and injuring other heroic victims, DeSantis said Sunday when issuing the proclamation.<\/p>\n
The proclamation orders all state and federal flags to be flown at half staff from sunrise to sunset on Monday, December 6, at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds in Florida.<\/p>\n
The attack claimed the lives of Ensign Joshua Watson, Naval Aircrewman 3rd Class Mohammed Haithamand Naval Aircrewman 3rd Class Cameron Walters.<\/p>\n
Editors note: Since the original publication of this story, flags across the nation were ordered to half staff Monday by the president through December 9 following the death of U.S. Senator Bob Dole. Flags are also at half staff on Tuesday due to Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.<\/p>\n
