Hockey teams historically have issues in their first home game after a lengthy road trip. Its essentially just another road game, especially in the case of the Penguins, who hit the road again on Thanksgiving night for a game on Friday in New York.<\/p>\n
Mike Sullivan, in fact, acknowledged that the Penguins coaching staff was concerned about the home game on Wednesday against the Canucks.<\/p>\n
Turns out, there was nothing to worry about.<\/p>\n
The Penguins produced one of their most energetic efforts of the season, dictating the tempo from the beginning in an impressive 4-1 victory against the Canucks to extend Pittsburghs winning streak to four.<\/p>\n
I thought our effort was good, Sullivan said. We came out with a lot of energy. As a coaching staff, we were a little concerned about this one after a tough travel day. The guys played with a lot of energy. We werent as tight defensively as weve been. I think thats something weve got to take from this and just make sure that were making better decisions with the puck.<\/p>\n
Bryan Rust, Evan Rodrigues, Zach Aston-Reese and Brock McGinn scored for the Penguins. <\/p>\n
