The New Zealand Breakers have cancelled their final pre-season game after four members of their touring party tested positive for Covid-19.<\/p>\n

All players and staff associated with the Breakers in Australia are double vaccinated but the 39-strong touring party have been self-isolating in their inner-city Melbourne Apartments since Sunday night after one member of the group felt unwell on Saturday.<\/p>\n
As a precaution, the person took a rapid antigen test that came back negative, but still felt unwell the following day and had a PCR test which subsequently showed a positive result for Covid-19.<\/p>\n
The entire touring group, including children, underwent PCR tests on Monday, which uncovered a further three positive results.<\/p>\n
No member of the group has needed hospitalisation.<\/p>\n
\"Our team has followed best practices, but unfortunately, a number of individuals have experienced symptoms,\" Breakers owner Matt Walsh who is with the team in Australia said.<\/p>\n
\"We will continue to follow the advice of medical professionals and the NBL and look forward to being back on the court soon.\"<\/p>\n
Thursday's pre-season game against the Illawarra Hawks in Wollongong will no longer go ahead.<\/p>\n
