The conservative majority on Newbergs school board tripled down last week on its controversial policy to ban so-called political symbols like the Pride Flag and Black Lives Matter from classrooms and campuses.<\/p>\n
The board voted 4 to 3 to oust the popular superintendent who helped steer the exurban district to financial stability in recent years.<\/p>\n
Its the latest surprising step from a school board of elected volunteers, but Newberg isnt alone. Its part of a broader movement.<\/p>\n
