I bought a big adventure where some people may buy a Porsche or a house.

It's certainly a pretty spot if the isolation isn't too much of a bother, but how does it compare to properties in London.

Well a quick scan of property site Rightmove throws up a range of possible options in the same price range including this delightful 2 bedroom flat in Sydenham.

It's spacious enough and has a host of original 1930 features.

The listing from estate agents Robinson Jackson reads: "Delightful first floor 1930's purpose built maisonette with two bedrooms, leasehold, pleasant private section of garden, and access to loft, set within a popular cul-de-sac location in the Upper Sydenham area, equal distance to Sydenham and Forest Hill Station, conveniently located for local high street shops and amenities and Wells Park."

It's a tempting offer, but is it better than a private island?

What would you pick?
