Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after a Black Lives Matter flag was reported stolen in Dresden.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to a theft complaint in the community on Sunday afternoon. Through the investigation, police learned that an unknown man stole a Black Lives Matter flag from the corner ofMain Street and North Street and then fled on a motorcycle.<\/p>\n

According to police, the same flag had been removed from the area the night before and found in a nearby garbage can.<\/p>\n

We would like to remind everyone that hate or bias has no place in our society, Chatham-Kent police said in a media release. This behaviour will not be tolerated here in Chatham-Kent as this form of discrimination undermines everyones safety. <\/p>\n
