Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Joseph Yammin, has debunked speculations linking him to the award of travel contracts for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. <\/p>\n
The Deputy Sports Minister had been accused of contacting the Brazilian Sports Ministry in an attempt to make the 2014 World Cup travel arrangements a sole right for just one travel and tour agency in Ghana. <\/p>\n
But the Communication Directorate of the Ministry has rubbished the claims and directed that it should be accorded the contempt it deserves. <\/p>\n
It is not true that the Deputy Minister is in talks with some officials of Brazil to work out travel arrangements for a particular travel and tours company in Ghana to handle all the Brazil 2014 travel programs. <\/p>\n
In fact, it can never be true. What people are talking about has to do with the Ministry of Tourism and other high offices in the host country. It is total falsehood, and nothing of that nature has taken place. <\/p>\n
I can tell you for a fact that no travel and tour company will have the sole right for the World Cup program. The Ministry is considering making equitable distribution of the slot to all recognized and accredited travel agencies in the country, the Communications Directorate told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS. <\/p>\n
Ghana would be making its third successive World Cup appearance in June next year and travel and tours companies like Kenpong, African Origin, Bahmed Travel and Tours among others would be considered for quotas to airlift fans for the Brazil showpiece. <\/p>\n
