{"id":9772,"date":"2010-02-23T09:01:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-23T09:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euvolution.com\/futurist-transhuman-news-blog\/nasa-increases-support-contract-to-mid-atlantic-regional-spaceport\/"},"modified":"2010-02-23T09:01:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-23T09:01:00","slug":"nasa-increases-support-contract-to-mid-atlantic-regional-spaceport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.euvolution.com\/futurist-transhuman-news-blog\/space-station\/nasa-increases-support-contract-to-mid-atlantic-regional-spaceport.php","title":{"rendered":"NASA Increases Support Contract to Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><span><span>NASA <\/span>has increased the support contract to the Virginia Space Flight Authority\/Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at <span>NASA's Wallops Flight Facility<\/span>, Wallops Island, Va., to provide launch services for expendable launch vehicles.<p>The indefinite delivery, indefinite-quantity, with fixed price and cost reimbursable task orders contract addition has a potential value of approximately $43 million through May 3, 2014.<\/p><p>Current and long-term capabilities of Wallops are being enhanced to provide launch services and capabilities to safely and successfully launch small and medium class orbital missions for <span>NASA<\/span>, other federal organizations and commercial launch providers.<\/p><p>Wallops will be the launch site for the <span>NASA Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Experiment Explorer<\/span> (<span>LADEE<\/span>) mission aboard an Air Force Minotaur V rocket in late 2012.
