As a seasoned specialist who has audited hundreds of offices and reviewed thousands of claims, Dr. Gary Dougan brings over 20 years of Dental Director and Quality Management experience to LIBERTY. He is a Certified Dental Auditor from the California Association of Dental Plans, and a Certified Dental Consultant from the American Association of Dental Consultants. He has been involved in dental insurance plan design, policy setting, regulatory compliance, and resolves member grievances and provider disputes. Dr. Dougan also owned and operated a multi-practitioner private practice in Oakland, practicing for over 20 years. <\/p>\n
Dr. Dougan has formerly served as President of the Alameda County Dental Society and its charitable foundation, a recent Trustee of the California Dental Association, and past Chair of the CDA Leadership Development Committee, as well as an ADA Delegate. Dr. Dougan is a known national speaker on clinical topics as well as dental benefits industry issues, and serves on the board of a charitable foundation. <\/p>\n
Dr. Dougan graduated from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, DC, and has a Master of Public Health degree from UCLA. He completed a General Practice Residency at LA County-USC Medical Center and was one of the first dentists chosen to participate in the UCSF Healthcare Leadership Fellowship with physicians, nurse administrators and other healthcare business leaders. <\/p>\n
