Junior Arrojo would lead off with a double and would come around to score on an RBI single by DH Byron Wiley. Wiley would then come around to score on a single by third baseman Jacob Tanis, giving the Freedom a 2-0 lead after one inning.

Florence would stretch the lead to 3-0 in the second on an RBI single by Arrojo and would score two more in the fourth as Arrojo would double again, this time driving in two runs to give the Freedom a 5-0 lead after four innings.

However, the Wild Things would come charging right back, scoring two in the fifth and three in the sixth to tie the game at five.

The tie would not last long though as the Freedom would break the tie in the sixth. Smith (L, 3-3) would walk Pablo Bermudez with one out before exiting the game. Two batters later, Arrojo would drive in his fourth run of the game on his fourth hit, pushing the Freedom ahead 6-5.

Florence would tack on an insurance run in support of Daniel DeSimone (W, 6-2) in the seventh as Jacob Tanis would hit a solo home run to left field. The bomb was Tanis' fifth of the season and would put the Freedom up 7-5.

Jorge Marban (S, 10) would strike out the side in the ninth to cap off a 7-5 win for the Freedom.

The Freedom and Wild Things will meet again tomorrow night in the second game of this three game series.
