Therapist agrees to surrender license <\/p>\n
An area mental health counselor has agreed to surrender her license to settle a case with the Iowa Board of Behavioral Science. <\/p>\n
According to a settlement agreement released Thursday, Amy Jo Murphy of Omaha, owner of AJ Counseling Services, admitted engaging in sexual activities with a client, engaging in unethical conduct and engaging in practice harmful or detrimental to the public. She also admitted failing to disclose an investigation into her conduct by the State of Nebraska but said this was accidental. She denied failing to release records subpoenaed by the board. The board agreed to dismiss that count. <\/p>\n
