Posted on January 2, 2013, Wednesday <\/p>\n LAWAS: Freedom of worship in Malaysia is precious and should be appreciated by all communities. <\/p>\n Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong said this when officiating at the earth-breaking ceremony of Methodist Church Indigenous Students Welfare Centre and Sarawak Annual Coronation Conference (SCAC) led by Rev Dato Dr Su Chii An in Lawas recently. <\/p>\n This is in contrast to countries which do not allow places of worship of non-official religions to be built, he said. <\/p>\n Henry said religious teachings inculcated good moral values, and urged Christians in the district to continue upholding inter-racial and inter-religious harmony. <\/p>\n We appreciate the fair leadership in Lawas which do not oppress other religions, he said. <\/p>\n The Lawas MP said cooperation between Christians and non-Christians contributed towards a harmonious society under the BN government. <\/p>\n He warned against any form of extremism caused by fanatical sects hiding behind the cloak of religion to justify wrongdoings. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n << Previous Entry - Next Entry >> <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Here is the original post:<\/p>\n Appreciate freedom of worship \u2014 MP<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" by Philip Kiew, reporters@theborneopost.com<\/a>.
