{"id":656,"date":"2009-11-08T05:26:52","date_gmt":"2009-11-08T05:26:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euvolution.com\/futurist-transhuman-news-blog\/?p=656"},"modified":"2009-11-08T05:26:52","modified_gmt":"2009-11-08T05:26:52","slug":"ares-1-x-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.euvolution.com\/futurist-transhuman-news-blog\/astronomy\/ares-1-x-launch.php","title":{"rendered":"Ares 1-X Launch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tomsastroblog.com\/?p=4451\"><em>Click here to view the embedded video.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I had a meeting out of town and missed the launch, so I thought I\u2019d put it up in case you did too.\u00a0 I like the imagery from the rocket.<\/p>\n<p>Some were trying to do their best to make the launch a failure because of a partial parachute failure for the booster section as it returned.\u00a0 Partial = one of three parachutes and the one that failed actually deployed first.<\/p>\n<p>The parachutes are being checked out this weekend and it could be a failure of he suspension system and not of the chute material.<\/p>\n<p>It may be a moot point.\u00a0 The Obama administration may be heading towards ending human spaceflight anyways.\u00a0 Some will cheer this news I suppose, I don\u2019t exactly cheer the \u201cdumbing down\u201d of America any more than we have.\u00a0 Even from an economic standpoint it\u2019s not a great move either, unless\u00a0 putting thousands more out of work is good.<\/p>\n<p>Course, the argument is well we can leave these things to someone else and just get what we need from them.\u00a0 Them being somebody else, anybody else.\u00a0 Yep that is true, and look how good that\u2019s working for us in general.\u00a0 In the whole country we don\u2019t even have a single manufacturer for the flu vaccine for crying out loud.\u00a0 We have allowed ourselves to be at the mercy of everybody else because we have lost the ability to do for us.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a disgraceful situation.\u00a0 Oh and for the record, the handling of he H1N1 thing is an embarrassment, good thing it\u2019s not a more serious flu we\u2019d really be up the creek.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the <a title=\"The video source is here.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vQvl0pY8GkM\" target=\"_blank\">video source<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Click here to view the embedded video.
