DAVIS (AP) -- A California university medical school dean is resigning amid controversy over doctor experiments on dying cancer patients. <\/p>\n
University of California, Davis, School of Medicine dean Claire Pomeroy said on Monday that she will leave the university on June 30. <\/p>\n
She's been dean for seven years and she earned $734,000 last year. <\/p>\n
UC Davis doctors may have experimented on dying brain cancer patients without proper university or federal approval. <\/p>\n
The university last year banned two neurosurgeons, Dr. J. Paul Muizelaar and Dr. Rudolph J. Schrot, from any research involving human subjects. <\/p>\n
The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Joint Commission, which accredits hospitals, are investigating the allegations. <\/p>\n
The university's provost is also conducting a second internal probe. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
